Date movie.
It has alisonhannigan in and we thought it might be light hearted
It was dire. Utter crap. And I have a high threshold for crap, can watch most rubbish as long as its entertaining

OP posts:

Sat through Jupiter Rising last night. Wooden acting, (even from decent actors like Eddie Redmayne) daft dialogue, improbable plot even for a SciFi type movie and Mila Kunis was an appalling lead who failed on every level.
Embarrassingly, I loved Ghost of Girlfriends Past. Proper twaddle that would have made Dickens throw up but I liked it.

Andylion · 04/03/2018 21:54

I hated La la Land. Tried three times to watch it and decided I would rather clean my toilet.

gingergenius · 04/03/2018 21:54

An I the only one settling down for a 'shit film' Netflix binge?

angieloumc · 04/03/2018 21:54

Many years ago I went on a first date to watch The Killing Fields at the cinema. Being only about 15 at the time it went right over my head and I was dreadfully bored. I fell asleep on the boys shoulder and dribbled on his lovely tan suede jacket.
Needless to say he didn't ask me out again!

Baubletrouble43 · 04/03/2018 21:54

Yes, the Lobster is truly awful !! Somehow managed to sit through it... because I'm obsessed with Colin Farrell

DwangelaForever · 04/03/2018 21:54

That film with Megan Fox in it, Jennifer's body. Now that was horrendous

I'm one of the people who didn't actually mind Jupiter Ascending 😂🙈

NotExactlyHappyToHelp · 04/03/2018 21:55

Agree with the PP who nominated Phantom Of The Opera. Utter fucking toss.

The Revenant comes a very close second. Went to the cinema to see it and god it was dire. I felt robbed of all joy. I got out and googled pictures of kittens just to remind myself there was happiness in the world.

gingergenius · 04/03/2018 21:57

An old one, but utterly bizarre, starring Julian Sands: Boxing Helena. Totally batshit.

CotswoldStrife · 04/03/2018 21:57

Smurfs 2. Dire.

CherryChasingDotMuncher · 04/03/2018 21:57

YY Andy how La La Land won so many OSCARs I'll never know. Nothing happens in it, and the characters are so vapid a flat. I don't think the music or singing/dancing was that great either. Do these Academy Award judges get paid off or something?

Pixelpuffin · 04/03/2018 21:58

angieloumc - I thought Killing Fields was brilliant.

Blushingm · 04/03/2018 21:59

Anything with a hobbit in is shite

Toddlerteaplease · 04/03/2018 22:00

The worst film ever, is 'My own private Idaho' 2 hours of my life I'll never get back.

Vicky1990 · 04/03/2018 22:01

By far The worst film I have ever seen was Dunkirk, do not pay good money to watch this load of rubbish, there is not one good thing about this film except The end.

alittlehelp · 04/03/2018 22:02

Love Actually.

Blushingm · 04/03/2018 22:02

I love my own private Idaho

squoosh · 04/03/2018 22:02

OP is this the film where there's a 'funny' scene where they beat up a homeless person? I'm not exaggerating when I say I've rarely been more shocked by a film scene in my life. I thought it was going to be some lighthearted nonsense and then that scene totally stopped me in my tracks!

YANBU.

MoonriseKingdom · 04/03/2018 22:03

Most recently terrible for me was ‘Mother!’. I like weird (actually quite liked The Lobster) I love Antonio Banderas so I had high expectations. It was a strange mix of horrifying yet boring.

chocolateworshipper · 04/03/2018 22:03

Hostel. I love horror films, but that was some sick shit.

Mightybanhammer · 04/03/2018 22:03

Black Swan. Without a doubt. Crass rubbish.

Peanutbuttercups21 · 04/03/2018 22:04

A lot of films,I like have been mentioned: bridesmaids, black swan, date night must have bad taste!

Movies with hobits are my least favourite

squoosh · 04/03/2018 22:04

Did Darren Aronofsky direct Mother? I think all his films are pretentious tripe.

alpacawhacker · 04/03/2018 22:04

The Mothman Prophecies. Just, no. Incomprehensible twaddle.

RachelRosie · 04/03/2018 22:04

So pleased to find others who hated Bridesmaids. I knew I couldn't be the only one!

Only film I have ever walked out of was Identity Thief... It was dire!

Whilst, I didn't hate it, I agree La La Land was massively overrated and I was so disappointed as I really wanted to like it

myusernameisnotmyusername · 04/03/2018 22:04

Well it has 7% on rotten tomatoes so I guess it is shite! The Babysitter is one of the worst films I've seen in recent times!
