Napoleon Dynamite is all I have to say

Napoleon Dynamite grows on you, I promise. The first time I watched it I felt like I was on drugs and thought it was a pile of shit. I watched it again and laughed like a drain - now it's one of my favourite films ever.

I know a couple of people who say the same.

seafoodeatit · 06/03/2018 10:28

Yes to Napoleon dynamite growing on you!

BattleaxeGalactica · 06/03/2018 10:29

I put off watching Mama Mia for ages because I wanted to wait until I felt in need of a treat. Big mistake Angry

Lost In Translation. Never has a film been more aptly titled.

The Imaginarium Of Dr Parnassus. Who needs drugs?

Les Miserables. I know the clue's in the name but...just shoot me now. Unremittingly grim and then Russell Crowe singing...

flippityfloppity · 06/03/2018 10:53

You're all wrong.

Unbreakable. Easily.

DGRossetti · 06/03/2018 11:01

Do folks find their tolerance for a bad film differs depending on whether you are watching it at home on TV, or have shelled out to see it at the cinema ? I've always felt that having spent money to buy a ticket, I'm more prepared to overlook any flaws than when it's cost less to nothing and you're watching it at home ...

DGRossetti · 06/03/2018 11:02

Plunkett and Maclean ?

Last Man Standing ?

JanKind · 06/03/2018 11:41

Eyes Wide Shut

KaliforniaDreamz · 06/03/2018 11:53

Twilight - the lack of chemistry is astounding.

MrsJayy · 06/03/2018 11:58

Twilight is just terrible the misery of the romance is depressing although i think it was aimed at emoesque teenagers I don't think it was a film for me.

BluePony · 06/03/2018 12:00

@SharronNeedles I love your username Shock
Furthermore, that story is harrowing, I completely agree Sad

Love Van Helsing though Blush

BluePony · 06/03/2018 12:04

Human Centipede 3
Cube
Sharknado

DagenhamRoundhouse · 06/03/2018 13:58

I loved 'Ransom' with Mel Gibson. It's brilliant.

The older I get the less tolerance I have for bad TV shows and films. I'd rather read or watch something I've recorded. The last film I saw at the flicks was Solaris starring G. Clooney. It was rubbish!

CuriousMama · 06/03/2018 14:07

Personal shopper. Awful.

revengeongc · 06/03/2018 14:16

I see someone has mentioned Girls Trip.

Truly, truly dreadful. Went with a friend because we thought it would be light comedy. We lasted until Jada Pinkett-Smith pisses all over a street full of people, exchanged a horrified glance and walked straight out.

I personally love a dumb film (come on, you can enjoy the visuals of Fast and Furious, if you get my meaning Wink ) but Girls Trip plumbed the depths of puerile.

LuckyBitches · 06/03/2018 14:21

Sliding Doors.

"I've hurt my shagging toe".

revengeongc · 06/03/2018 14:24

The punctuation should, in fairness, have given us fair warning.

Andylion · 06/03/2018 14:25

She did say “shagging” a lot in that movie.

AthenasOwl · 06/03/2018 14:30

Revengeongc yes it was me lol I saw it at the cinema with a couple of friends. I'd have walked out but they seemed to be really enjoying it!
The pissing in the street bit was utterly cringey. Frankly I was embarrassed.

MonsteraDeliciosa · 06/03/2018 14:30

BluePony I love how you single out Human Centipede 3, as if 1 and 2 were quite OK! Grin

FuckKnuckle · 06/03/2018 14:36

Just remembered the only film that DH and I actually gave up on after about 20 minutes, which was the Starsky and Hutch film. It was awful.

Oh, and I never made it to the end of End of Watch, either. I adore Jake Gyllenhaal, but I just couldn't get into that one at all.

revengeongc · 06/03/2018 14:38

AthenasOwl, the odd thing was that everyone else in the cinema was howling with laughter.

We were just howling on the inside :)

theredjellybean · 06/03/2018 14:42

I haven't read the whole thread...

But has anyone mentioned the horror that is:

High school musical 1,2 and for the love god no ooo... Number 3

Saccharine Disneyfied claptrap...

I literally had to leave dds in cinema and sit outside with my book

KaliforniaDreamz · 06/03/2018 14:43

the red but, but, ZAC....
