Colleague left me stranded in the snow

Work alongside a colleague, I currently have no car and have been one of the only few people to get into work with all this bad snow. Today, we got the go ahead to go home and she has dropped me off to the closest train station. There is one train showing up as running in the opposite direction, no staff here at the station and no one available to collect me.

AIBU to think she could have driven the 20 minutes to drop me home (she has a 4x4)???

Oh Prudence, please be real.

IHopeYouStepOnALegoPiece · 05/03/2018 09:54

Yes. Ann Summers is the logical explanation 🙄

MissDuke · 05/03/2018 09:56

I have to confess that I DO find MN hard to use! It is so basic compared to other forums that I find it less obvious how to do things. I genuinely did know that @ works - when I see posters doing it I always smirk thinking you do realise this is only mn Blush Mind you I only ever use the desktop version, not sure if that makes any difference? Because I have no idea how you get notifications here.

Rosielily · 05/03/2018 10:05

Thank you! Smile

Freshme · 05/03/2018 13:23

Prudence is obviously not real, but I imagine OP went to work(if she dared at all!) in trepidation 😁

EnriqueTheRingBearingLizard · 05/03/2018 14:08

@MissDuke

Don't know if you've seen the FAQ page?
www.mumsnet.com/info/faqs lots of info about using and personalizing the site. HTH Smile

BerylStreep · 05/03/2018 16:34

Why does everyone assume Prudence is a first time poster? If real, she has probably name changed so that her colleague can't read about personal stuff she has previously posted.

I thought this. If it is real then she is outing herself so it would be logical to name change.

Mxyzptlk · 05/03/2018 18:34

Prudence said that a colleague who is on MN had told her about this thread. So that gives the impression that Prudence wasn't on MN until now.

Freshme · 05/03/2018 18:36

BerylStreep

She made it sound like that, saying that another colleague, who IS a mumsnetter(so apparently Prudence herself wasn't) texted her about this thread.

Though surely it was between those two, how would another colleague know of a situation with the lift to the station and recognise it all on mumsnet?? And how would Prudence actually know how long the wait at the station took if she dropped her off and left? :)

extinctspecies · 05/03/2018 18:40

I believe in Prudence.

MissDuke · 05/03/2018 18:42

Thanks Enrique

WickedGoodDoge · 05/03/2018 18:46

I don’t care if she is real or fake. I’d just like an update on how today went, either real or fake. Grin

Boobsarenotloadbearing · 05/03/2018 19:48

She may be a MN user whose colleague told her about the post as she hadn’t been on in a while.

I am quite new to posting comments and found the bold in the help below. As PP have said the @username is common on many sites so it’s plausible.

Either way that’s what you get for being rude about a colleague who has repeatedly helped you (she has given OP repeated lifts by the OPs comments herself) online!

I hope it is real!

I really hope Prudence updates us as work must have been chilly at best today!

BerylStreep · 05/03/2018 19:54

Yes, possibly frosty.

'scuse the pun

PercyPigAddict · 05/03/2018 20:30

Best.Thread.Ever. I don't even care if it's real or not

Exactly. I love Prudence.

The handy guide, just below the message box on a PC does make bolding idiotproof

just previewed that in case
