Colleague left me stranded in the snow

Work alongside a colleague, I currently have no car and have been one of the only few people to get into work with all this bad snow. Today, we got the go ahead to go home and she has dropped me off to the closest train station. There is one train showing up as running in the opposite direction, no staff here at the station and no one available to collect me.

AIBU to think she could have driven the 20 minutes to drop me home (she has a 4x4)???

BerylStreep · 04/03/2018 16:05

Crikey Prudence this is my worst nightmare that someone recognises themselves in a thread. Work is going to be fun tomorrow. Grin

Are you real?

GabsAlot · 04/03/2018 18:49

i assume not real as noones come back

PrudenceThePlonker · 04/03/2018 21:32

Hi sorry, I have been distracted, as you can perhaps imagine. I had written a long message to clarify a lot of issues she raised. But then realised that actually, she (hopefully) feels shit enough now all by herself, particularly as someone we work with is a mumsnetter and let me know what happened.

There were some pretty nasty things said, all totally unfounded, and to say that it hurt, knowing she thinks all that about me, despite doing massive favours is not a pleasant feeling to have. I can't say I'll be getting much sleep tonight. I seriously am shocked that someone can take a good natured offer of a lift in cold weather and turn it into something so incredibly nasty.

Anyway, at least I won't have to rush around now in a morning worrying that someone's going to be grumpy all day because her chauffer was a minute late. Yup, that's right. No more lifts.

Maybe a hard lesson learned "don't bite the hand that feeds you".

For those that agreed she was being unreasonable, thank you for seeing it for what it was.

JaneEyre70 · 04/03/2018 21:41

Wow I'd love to be a fly on the wall where you work tomorrow Prudence.

GabsAlot · 04/03/2018 21:48

wow prudence well most of us said she was bu hope shes learnt a lesson

shakeyourcaboose · 04/03/2018 21:50

So my early night plan is out of the window! prudence hope you have a perfect Paddington stare for her tomorrow morning!

MadMags · 04/03/2018 21:51

So what exactly happened Prudence because OP wasn’t exactly forthcoming...

SmashedMug · 04/03/2018 21:56

Yes, person who is equally fictional, what happened?

MadMags · 04/03/2018 22:03

Grin indeed!

Mxyzptlk · 04/03/2018 22:34

Prudence has already explained it.

If you're not real, Prudence, and just having a giraffe - the OP deserves it! Grin

Now that the thread is getting interesting, MNHQ will probably delete it.

Bernard, how does doing a daily walk up a hill make anyone a martyr, even if they are pregnant? There are plenty of pregnant women doing very physical work all day every day without complaining.

You're still avoiding the question of where you draw the line in your anxiety to offer people lifts. I need a lift next week from Birmingham to London, you won't have a problem with that, will you?

IHopeYouStepOnALegoPiece · 04/03/2018 23:43

The prudence update has absolutely made my night!

turnipfarmers · 04/03/2018 23:58

Stop, hold the thread, I'm off to buy some popcorn.

I've got to go to work and I bet the thread is deleted when I get back - would some kind soul please PM me the outcome? Pretty please?
