to ask how MN users can be so stupid about Trans women?

Why are trans women and men put into the same category? As if trans women are accepted by men. In a world where men are constantly try to look the most “manliest” do you honestly think that transwomen are accepted into this

Yes op, were the stupid ones

bigbootsj · 24/02/2018 09:12

Men have penises women have vaginas.. Its that simple. what we have in this country is a major mental health problem!

Willswife · 24/02/2018 09:13

Why do people assume that being anti SelfID means you are transphobic?

I am very much against SelfID but have no problem whatsoever with trans people.

Halebeke425 · 24/02/2018 09:13

Curtainstocurtains hits the nail on the head at 00.15. We should be accepting people expressing their personalities in whatever way they like, but that should have no bearing whatsoever on your biological sex. Women have fought for the right to do what we like (work in male fields, wear trousers etc etc) without that meaning we aren't 'real women', it's time men stood up for themselves by fighting to end these unhealthy male stereotypes rather than trying to redefine the word woman to include them, as we're easier to convince apparently.

The words man and woman need to go back to meaning a biological reality not a set of behaviours/personalities. People should be able to say 'I'm a man, I like wearing makeup and dresses and socialising with women, I'm not interested in sports but I love fashion' without society saying "oh you must be a girl". And vice versa for women.

LondonHereICome · 24/02/2018 09:18

swarm haha.... I can click on any I like.... reading terfy found a previous identical thread from the op makes this one as goady as the last!

Helps the 'cause' how exactly??

Stupid

ClaryFray · 24/02/2018 09:21

There is a man near me, who dresses as a women. Doesn't have gender disphoria, still attracted to women, but dresses as one. In public. Let's give him access to female spaces, like toilets and changing rooms.

Let's give men like him full, unrestricted access. Nope. Not on my watch.

Trans women are not women. Trans men are not men. They are a third category entirely. Add a unisex option amoung men and women's. For those who are comfortable with this.

Alltheprettyseahorses · 24/02/2018 09:53

You're on a hiding to nowhere OP. This is Mumsnet, where we all have direct experience of what female and male biology are. We've given birth, or maybe wanted babies but can't have them, or didn't want them and needed advice how not to make them. And there are men on here in the same situations. None of us have any difficulty understanding the difference. I mean, you know which parent gave birth to you don't you? The female one, aka the woman.

To sat transwomen are women, I.e. a biological reality, is ridiculous. If a transman and a transwoman are in a relationship, we all know which one would need the pill and which one the condom.

Idontdowindows · 24/02/2018 10:06

I don't want any of these:

terfisaslur.com

in my space.

TheEgregiousPeach · 24/02/2018 10:21

OP, you're way behind the time shouting about gender dysphoria being a recognised condition. There's actually pressure on to declassify it as a mental disorder. I can tell you now that many trans people won't be too happy with you classing them as mentally ill and having a disordered gender.
Do keep up.

BigEthel · 24/02/2018 10:31

53rdWay Do you have any statistics or evidence to back up your opinion?

Why don't you do your own research instead of sea-lioning? There's this amazing thing called the Internet. It has a world of facts and figures at your fingertips.

TerfyMcTerface · 24/02/2018 10:35

Men have penises women have vaginas.. Its that simple. what we have in this country is a major mental health problem

Compounded with an MRA / misogyny problem.

MasterWu · 24/02/2018 10:36

Because Trans"women", like men, seem to have a preoccupation with invading/eroding women's spaces and silencing their voices.

Given there's at least one trans thread a day on mumsnet, you're hardly silenced....

MasterWu · 24/02/2018 10:38

When I breastfeed my baby I’ve been told not to call it breastfeeding but chestfeeding.
I shouldn’t mention periods in case I trigger someone.
I should think of myself as a pregnant person rather than a pregnant woman.
I should feel comfortable getting changed next to someone with a penis.
I should encourage my lesbian friends to have sex with dick.
Shall I continue???

Who told you this?

LondonHereICome · 24/02/2018 10:44

Yeah master who told you that?

LondonHereICome · 24/02/2018 10:45

Sorry 'her' not 'who'!!!

PerfPower · 24/02/2018 10:59

I have nothing against trans gender people, but I'm vehemently against self id for all the reasons the pps have stated.

I was really struggling with the fact that the trans agenda is being so strongly pushed lately and how many people, especially politicians, are promoting it. Stonewall, Mermaids etc. being given a platform to push this in schools whilst there is to be 'no debate' from anyone concerned with the consequences.

Then I read the article about Jennifer Pritzker (sp?) and the American billionaires who stand to get much much richer through their interest in the pharmaceutical companies supplying the drugs that will be needed for life for transitioning children. They are donating vast sums to universities if they teach their variation of biology, to hospitals who perform and research genital surgery etc. It makes sense to me now, I don't understand why some people chant 'transwomen are women', but I can see now why it's being pushed by universities and politicians.

Ereshkigal · 24/02/2018 11:02

If you don't think these things are said to women every day you're out of your tiny minds.

Ereshkigal · 24/02/2018 11:03

I mean, do either of you even have the faintest idea about any of this? Or just goady? Don't bother answering.

AltogetherAndrews · 24/02/2018 11:13

I work with sex offenders in the community and in jail. Let me assure you, there are men who will dress as as women in order to access female spaces and assault women. I work with them. They exist. There are men who specifically get their kicks from doing so. You are unbelievably naive to think that this is not the case, or that sexual predators are always “manly.”
At the moment women let these men access their spaces out of compassion, and are assaulted for thanks. If the law changes, these women would have no right to refuse them access in the future. I at my work would have no right to challenge a convicted sexual predators on his deviance, and would have to allow him to attend his appointments with me in female clothes and watch him get sexually arroused by me, a female, having to treat him as a female. This has actually happened to me at work, it is not a hypothetical, and is not as rare as you would hope. Under self id, my clients would have a legal right to enter female prisons to continue their behaviour with a trapped female audience. They would be the happiest men on earth. Over my dead body. But that makes me transphobic??

DaisyDrip · 24/02/2018 11:27

AltogetherAndrews You can't argue with a professional who works with these men and understands their mindset. Thank you for posting your experiences.

Sparkletastic · 24/02/2018 11:32

Has OP gone away to do some reading?

TerfyMcTerface · 24/02/2018 11:38

Well they clearly didn't after their last thread in November, sparkletastic, so I doubt they've bothered this time. I expect we'll see another identical thread in three months time.

BoneyBackJefferson · 24/02/2018 11:44

How can you not be worried about the use of puberty blockers on children?
How can you not be worried about a group of people that say lesbians should have sex with someone with a penis?
how can you not be worried about a sex offender self IDing to be moved into a woman's prison?
How can you not be worried about the impact of self IDing people working in refuges for women?
How can you not be worried when a woman that is talking about being raped and sexually abused is asked "what are you doing for trans women" (para) by a self IDing transwoman that is a known abuser?
And how can you not be worried when the women's officer not only forces women out of their seats, posts abusive messages and threatens sexual assault on women (I refuse to use the term CIS as they do)
And how can you not be worried when saying anything or trying to debate about this in various professions would lose you your job?

MaisyPops · 24/02/2018 11:46

I am very much against SelfID but have no problem whatsoever with trans people.
Same.
I will support the rights of trans people to transition regardless of my own gender critical views.

A transitioned transwoman is perfectly fine in women's spaces in my opinion but they shouldn't be allowed to compete in women's sports due to biological differences. Transwomen and transmen have been getting on with their lives for years.

I have a huge issue with the new brand of TRA who deny biology, think lesbians should accept their lady dick, that they can put on a dress and call themselves a new name and that gives them the right to mansplain womanhood to me.
I have an issue with the rewriting of language, shutting down of debate, blocking anyone who might disagree, doxxing people etc. They are a peculiar mix of dangerous misogynists and transtrenders who are after a way to be special on youtube.

HermioneWeasley · 24/02/2018 11:51

OP' thank you for educating me! Now I see that these men who are clearly men aren’t really men at all. Silly me.
