Bloody hell, there's someone on another thread getting a kicking for being a SAHM and she's got a six month old baby! She's been accused of only wanting her husband as a "meal ticket" and of wanting to "have her cake paid for and eat it too."

What the hell is happening to this place? Are we expected to fire our children straight out of our fanjos and into a nursery so we can get back to work immediately now??!

I know, it’s insane. I knew she’d get a bit of a kicking because her husband is a high earner and she’s at home with a baby. She should be indulging his every whim as he pays her way, obviously.

I don't agree with the kicking she's getting, but the issue is more complicated than simply being a SAHM. It's more about living in place A works well for her and nothing for him, and place B is great for him but nothing for her.

It's a question of whether he's a decent guy (we don't know), what his true motives are (we don't know), how much they care for each other (we don't know) and generally a whole load of things we don't know.

Putting all that aside Sussex, there are still posters accusing a mother of a six month old baby of wanting a meal ticket. Someone actually used those words.

Apparently in some posters world view we're parasitic gold diggers if we wait till our babies are weaned before getting back to work.

Because of the fact I’ve not slept for nearly a year, the scar on my bikini line being 2 dress sizes bigger, and the hideous crap (toys) that’s ruined my tasteful home. Mustbemad- you need to milk him for everything you can get. And the baby absolutely needs all designer clothes and if there’s a centreparcs nearby, the nhs guidelines state that at least 2 aqua sana spa weekends should be enjoyed within 12 weeks of delivery. Otherwise a long weekend in Venice will do. He’s likely to screw everything up though so it’s probably better you just take his credit card and get online and sort it yourself ( sighs as has to do everything!)
