Did the sofas come?

Do they blow up too? Grin

MiddleClassProblem · 16/02/2018 17:57

I can’t be the only one picturing the iron throne...

Funko · 16/02/2018 18:25

I've been an amused lurker but I am completely over invested in the sofas... are they any good op?

Blatherskite · 16/02/2018 18:40

I married a geek - A systems programmer who types apparent gibberish into computers all day - He's even got a Steam account. He's never turned the lounge into an enormous bed for video games though Sad

MadRainbow · 16/02/2018 18:59

Blatherskite Geeks are mildly different to nerds tbf - I have found geeks to be far more asexual as compared to their nerdy counterparts. My DH sits on the cusp between the 2 labels and needs lots more instruction than a nerd would... Try to be very direct with your geek - like a computer programme they respond best to yes/No and simple commands. I'll admit takes the suspense away a bit but you always get exactly what you want :P

Blatherskite · 16/02/2018 19:18

MadRainbow I find they panic and over-compensate easily. DH has on the past bought me all sorts of electronic gadgetry for birthdays and christmas when he's not been able to think of anything I might like. Thankfully, I've always appreciated the gifts.

I did have one ex who panicked at Valentines and took me to Prague for 4 days too Grin

MadRainbow · 16/02/2018 19:40

Shame this one hasn't panicked and taken you to Paris! What a lovely surprise lol. I totally agree on the panicky thing though and they end up spending exorbitant amounts of money for no real reason...

I now have a list in his phone notes that connects to his gmail and my Amazon wish list, it has definitely helped somewhat

Lweji · 16/02/2018 19:44

BFF and Red Viking are trying out the sofas. No time for updates. Jeez.

BigFatFanny · 16/02/2018 20:02

We have a very swanky leather corner sofa Grin

Celebrating with a takeaway and mariokart hence lack of updates, DH is overly invested and is currently demanding that every time I beat him it’s classed as ‘a practice run’ Hmm

Sofas are insanely comfy and yes, I cried like a car stuck in a drain pipe for 20 minutes Blush

Mariokart, you say? Is that what you kids call it these days?
Did you finish first many times? I hope he didn't prematurely leave any race.
Halo

SilverHairedCat · 16/02/2018 20:06

Yay, well done to the Viking!

I still want to know if he's been answering my questions on Google Maps.

HerRoyalFattyness · 16/02/2018 20:48

Bunchofdaffodils · 16/02/2018 22:15

Funko · 17/02/2018 09:25

For the first time in 5 years I stayed in bed till 10 today just so I could read this post. Even the husband came up twice to find out if I was still alive. Thank you for the post has entertained me all morning. Hope all calms down and you enjoy your second Life. Lol Grin

Took me a chunk of time last night and then a bit this morning to read the two entire threads. This has entertained me no end!

OP I’m glad your death was greatly exaggerated and that you and DH have got your lovely sofa and enjoying gaming night.

With regards to M0/lying-crazy-person as long as your close friends and family know the full situation, including the bit about this woman being a bit delusional about your DH then I think ignoring it is best. But please keep copies of the messages from various M1-12, M0 and M0 friend just in case M0 goes even more off the deep end and things escalate. At least you will have some evidence of history to back you up.

To fellow MNetters wanting awesome hilarious DHs I second OPs advice of date nerds. Also gingers. Gingers often learn to laugh at themselves very early on as do nerds so when they “grow up” they make brilliant DPs. The only downside is if you are also of the geek/nerd variety you will need multiple games consoles or fighting happens. Also you have to share your “cave”.

I’m now almost disappointed my gamer Viking didn’t come with detachable parts though...
