To be irritated I can’t sell my sell ICandy pushchair

Before anyone says it I’m an absolute idiot for not buying from gumtree in the first place but 🙄🙄 I wanted a nice shiny new one!

For first baby we got loaned an ICandy as we thought we were only going to have the one dc.

Then got pregnant with dc2 and HAD to have a new pushchair!

We got an single to double as had two under 2 and eldest child not walking when dc2 came.

As Sod’s law would have it, dc2 hated the buggy and refused to sit in it after 12 months.

The whole thing including cost us £1100 including car seat bits.

I’ve been trying to sell it in gumtree for £400 and not one enquiry apart from one cf who asked if he could borrow it🤔

I’m going to have to give it away for next to nothing, aren’t I?

Are we all supposed to live in the cheapest smallest houses? Drive the cheapest cars? Shop in charity shops and eat value baked beans every night?

Or surely it's acceptable to buy what you want and can afford for your family without people criticising you?

I bought and resold my double on eBay, although it was a different brand to yours OP. It wasn't the shiniest or newest model but it was still £250 (I resold for the same price), so I can well believe a better example going for a lot more. £400 doesn't sound unachievable unnecessarily. I would watch similar lots on eBay and see what you could get.

As mentioned by a PP, if you have lots of accessories you may be better splitting the bundle. Sell the pushchair with the rain covers and maybe a foot muff. Sell any car seat clips, carrycots, sun covers etc separately.
I will be selling my single eventually. It's seen a lot of use despite being a good brand so won't make a lot. If I sell as a whole bundle I'll get maybe £60 I reckon, but if I sell buggy/rain cover/spare part-worn tyres I'll get £40 and then another £40+ for the sleeping bag and £5-10 for the seat liner separately. More hassle but a lot more money, and even more worth it if scaled up to a quality second hand model.

Mine's going on freecycle when I'm done with it, if it's still fit to use.

I see lots of these pricey buggy systems on local fb groups, they tend to go for £100 or so.drop your price and it'll sell. Those that get put on for 200+ never get any comments or interest. It's too much for secondhand with no warranty.

Your too unrealistic on the price, no one wants to pay £400 for a second hand pram no matter what the name might be! I bought my mothercare pram brand new for £300. I feel it has to be that price or lower to attract buyers, my friend got her iCandy for £150, the seller had to same problem so when my friend made the offer she took it even though she was hoping for £300.

That's too much for the apple to pear . You'd probably get that for a peach 3 . For an apple to pear you're looking at more like 200 and that's if it's a double with everything . I've seen apple to pears going for £120ish

But surely you didn't buy it with selling it in mind...you bought it thinking you'd have a lovely pushchair...which you have. Happy days. even if you only get £300 for it, that's better than nothing.

Did you buy it as an investment or as something to use for your children? Bit unrealistic to spend such a whopping amount on something and expect someone to spend a pretty hefty price for it 2nd hand. Surely getting anything back for it is a bonus??

No ones going to pay £400 for second hand pushchair. I bought a new mamas an papas travel system for less than that on one of their offers. Reduce your price. Do some research into what they sell at second hand. Just glad i turned down the icandy i played with as it didnt fit my car boot if they 1000 new. I dont remember it being that much new. Has prices gone up in 18 months

pancake now you are just being blatant rude calling the op thick. I have nursery furniture for sale that I have reduced the price on as it hasn't sold. Doesn't ,ale me thick for trying to get the best possible price for it. You live and learn.

london My icandy peach was over £1000 when I bought it five years ago.

@TwinklyGiraffe i had a silver cross one that we paid around £800 for. did both my DDs and then when i came to sell it i wasnt getting the asking price i wanted. put it in the garage and waited. next thing mice ate it and i got nothing :(. so even though its a loss, dont hold on to it!

I hadn’t thought that the issue might be that at £400 someone could get a whole new (no where near as good.. but new) system.

Might not be that far off, it would be under warranty and you'd know it hasn't been knocked about.

I had a second hand pram, and it was great, if a bit big. Folded easily with one hand, plenty of room underneath, DS was safe and snug in it. But we got it from a friend of my DM, along with a cot and a crib and it was a great price. Wouldn't have been so keen on getting one from a stranger online.

I’m still seething that my iCandy Apple sold for £85 when I spent £500+ on it and the lady didn’t quite bring enough money with her on her 80 mile round trip and I let her off another £5 because I felt so guilty her trying to count out 5p’s

I think you’re going to have to either keep it and wait, or pass it on to someone who’ll benefit and know you paid it forward.

I recommend eBay. I sold my knackered (and advertised as such) Phil&Ted's on eBay for not much less than I paid for it. I was astounded.

God some of these comments are hilarious! Bugaboo Donkeys for example sell for upto £800 second hand on Facebook groups and eBay ALL the time like every single day as they are £1500 new,lots of prams sell for £300/£400/£500 second hand every day as they are so expensive new. People saying second hand prams are never worth more than £100 are SO wide of the mark, believe me it's a massive industry! Bee 5's are selling for around £400 currently
