Before anyone says it Iโ€™m an absolute idiot for not buying from gumtree in the first place but ๐Ÿ™„๐Ÿ™„ I wanted a nice shiny new one!

For first baby we got loaned an ICandy as we thought we were only going to have the one dc.

Then got pregnant with dc2 and HAD to have a new pushchair!

We got an single to double as had two under 2 and eldest child not walking when dc2 came.

As Sodโ€™s law would have it, dc2 hated the buggy and refused to sit in it after 12 months.

The whole thing including cost us ยฃ1100 including car seat bits.

Iโ€™ve been trying to sell it in gumtree for ยฃ400 and not one enquiry apart from one cf who asked if he could borrow it๐Ÿค”

Iโ€™m going to have to give it away for next to nothing, arenโ€™t I?

Wow. ยฃ600, ยฃ800... ยฃ1100 for a buggy!? I paid ยฃ80 for a lovely used Mothercare Orb and it worked very well (never mind I drove a bit of a way). Owner kept it prestige. Stripped it down and washed all the bits in non bio and it was good as new!
I guess if you have it... you splash it huh!

Nonotmenori · 05/02/2018 22:06

Yes well mine was about ยฃ1200 all in. It was worth every penny. And if I were to do again I'd buy the same again. Each ti their own and all that.

Misspollyx · 05/02/2018 22:56

I paid just over ยฃ1200 for my world 5 years ago & sold it the following year for under ยฃ500 on eBay. I listed it buy it now for ยฃ500 & had a buyer within a hour.
People these days sell them second hand for much less.
I honesty think if you get a couple of hundred you should take it as there are thousands of second hand ones for sale these days. I see posters asking constantly on the FB why there not selling, I would drop the price and put it on eBay get a quick sale.

Good Luck.

manicmij · 05/02/2018 23:25

You have to look at what the cost would be to buy a reasonable pushchair and base your asking price lower. Folk looking for a secondhand one won't be all that fussed about brand as long as the make is recognisable and the pushchair is clean and a reasonable condition. You should lower your price and see if that gets you more interest. How about the "for sale" boards in supermarkets.

I paid ยฃ450 for my city jogger double with 2 carrycots second hand and sold it on for ยฃ350. I used a buying and selling site for parents, something like Buggies Central Scotland or similar. There was also a โ€˜buggy manโ€™ on there too whoโ€™d effectively do a full service so it was as good as new. Great way to buy and sell!

Try a car boot sale and sell some other unwanted bits and bobs

nannykatherine · 07/02/2018 13:58

halfwitpicker · 07/02/2018 14:01

A grand on a pram!?

Palavapalava · 07/02/2018 14:34

In exactly the same position as you op. Gutting isnโ€™t it?

Iโ€™m not allowed to sell ours because mil contributed towards it. Our eldest is nearly 3 and outgrew it at 20 months! Itโ€™s impractical, bulky and frankly a load of tosh. Wish we had bought something cheaper!

This thread is so bitter! I'm just back from pushing my ยฃ850 iCandy along with one hand, Waitrose coffee in the other. I must be everything that's wrong with the world. Hmm
