Before anyone says it Iโ€™m an absolute idiot for not buying from gumtree in the first place but ๐Ÿ™„๐Ÿ™„ I wanted a nice shiny new one!

For first baby we got loaned an ICandy as we thought we were only going to have the one dc.

Then got pregnant with dc2 and HAD to have a new pushchair!

We got an single to double as had two under 2 and eldest child not walking when dc2 came.

As Sodโ€™s law would have it, dc2 hated the buggy and refused to sit in it after 12 months.

The whole thing including cost us ยฃ1100 including car seat bits.

Iโ€™ve been trying to sell it in gumtree for ยฃ400 and not one enquiry apart from one cf who asked if he could borrow it๐Ÿค”

Iโ€™m going to have to give it away for next to nothing, arenโ€™t I?

I spent ยฃ1100ish on my icandy. Money well spent as I loved it and I am certainly no mug for spending my money on something I can afford!

But I did resell mine quickly for about ยฃ250. ยฃ400 might be a bit optimistic.

DSHathawaysLover · 04/02/2018 19:54

Yep, definitely the iCandy selling groups on Facebook. You will probably find that splitting it and selling the parts separately will get you more. You still may not get the total you're after though.

georgeoutside · 04/02/2018 19:54

I don't think there is actually anything wrong with spending over ยฃ1k on a pushchair. The problem only arises when like OP, you want to sell it to get something back because it cost so much. If you need to do that then the pushchair was out of your budget in the first place.

Audreyhelp · 04/02/2018 19:55

Put it on eBay you certainly wasnโ€™t a mug for buying the pushchair you wanted. Really unhelpful comments on here.

TheJoyOfSox · 04/02/2018 19:55

Itโ€™s a second hand pushchair. How much do you think itโ€™s worth? And before you tell me how much it cost you new, re read the question. How much do you think a second hand pushchair, complete with second hand snot/ice cream/whotsits etc is worth.

I can go to mothercare and buy a nice โ€œshineyโ€ new pushchair for less than the cost of your second hand one.

I can buy a cheap buggy for ยฃ15. from amazon. Iโ€™d honestly not pay ยฃ60 for a second hand one, no matter what brand it is.

DSHathawayGivesMeFannyGallops · 04/02/2018 19:57

I wasn't out for tea and cake with you this afternoon was I? Friend I was with, who now has a double buggy, was telling me how underwhelmed she was with her iCandy! (If it is you I shall NC and we shall never speak of this ) Grin

Summerdays2014 · 04/02/2018 19:59

My I candy strawberry has been on gumtree for 3 weeks now and Iโ€™ve had not a single enquiry about it. Put in on for ยฃ200 now dropped to ยฃ150. Might try eBay but they take a cut and then Paypal take a cut so I prefer gumtree. Also considering taking it to one of those nearly new sales as I have so many other baby things that I no longer need as Iโ€™m not having another.

FiloPasty · 04/02/2018 20:02

I should my icandy double 5 years ago for ยฃ500 on EBay, I did give it a good clean everything is washable, and took lots of photos.

FiloPasty · 04/02/2018 20:02

*sold

SadieHH · 04/02/2018 20:03

Facebook selling groups are best. There are people who would pay for it but youโ€™ll need lots of patience.

Buglife · 04/02/2018 20:04

People are looking for a bargain on Gumtree and ยฃ400 isnโ€™t a bargain even for a posh pushchair. I got my whole brand new Silvercross Wayfarer system for ยฃ500 for DS1 and I thought that was the most Iโ€™d spend new. If I were looking secondhand Iโ€™d think under ยฃ200. If people can buy something new for ยฃ400 instead theyโ€™d do that.

Housewife2010 · 04/02/2018 20:07

It took us a few months to sell our Out n About double pushchair for a price we were happy with on Ebay. You may need to wait a while until the right buyer turns up. Make sure that your photos and description are really selling it.

mrscee · 04/02/2018 20:07

I sold a double I candy pear on ebay for ยฃ270 and I probably paid over ยฃ1000 for it, bit annoying but not a lot you can do really if people aren't willing to pay that.

Sunisshining12 · 04/02/2018 20:07

List it on Facebook, sphock, eBay & any other site you can think of. Someone will buy eventually be patient! And make sure your photos are good/offer delivery/good description & key words for search

x2boys · 04/02/2018 20:07

Personally I wouldn't spend ยฃ400 new for a buggie but each to their own I doubt you will get ยฃ400 second hand tbh there are so many cheaper travel systems .

Runningoutofusernames · 04/02/2018 20:08

Other issue you have on eBay/gumtree is that people don't have any guarantee that your pram is as new as you say etc, and they don't want to be the mug who buys one that has actually been used by two kids and bumped up and down stairs and is on its last legs. Have you included proof of purchase date etc? And if on eBay, right to return? That can help. ยฃ400 might still be a stretch though

WetsTheVet · 04/02/2018 20:08

Subtle

Notgotajarofglue · 04/02/2018 20:08

You would be lucky to get ยฃ250

HopelesslydevotedtoGu · 04/02/2018 20:10

Join an iCandy selling group on Facebook and get advice about pricing.

My instinct is that it's too expensive.
What it cost you new doesn't necessarily relate to what someone is willing to pay second hand.
Lots of people, if they have ยฃ400 to spend, would rather buy a brand new pram with warranty in the colours they have chosen from a different brand. Spending ยฃ400 on gumtree is a risk, it could break the next week.

Once you have pricing advice, list it in the Facebook iCandy and local selling pages or eBay.

mummy2oneandtwo · 04/02/2018 20:10

We bought an Icandy for our twins,
Spent round ยฃ1,300 for the whole thing but thought we'd get a good resale value....ha!!

Managed to sell the bassinets for a fair price, but not holding out much hope when we try to sell the whole thing.

Try the Icandy Facebook page, some
People seem to do well on there, but I'd really lower your expectations on what you hope to get for it Sad

dragoncave · 04/02/2018 20:10

have another baby?!?

otherwise obviously a second-hand luxury item is never going to feel the same to buyer

Rebeccaslicker · 04/02/2018 20:11

Laughing at mummy2017. Bitter much?!

Not everyone wants to get the cheapest thing possible!

BikeRunSki · 04/02/2018 20:14

FB Preloved iCandy group?

Worked well for me when I sold my Out n About Nipper 360.

To be irritated I canโ€™t sell my sell ICandy pushchair
Notasunnybunny · 04/02/2018 20:16

ยฃ400 is too much, like furniture it devalues to between a quarter to a fifth of its original value once you use it, for ยฃ400 I would expect it to be in almost new condition

RedRobin87 · 04/02/2018 20:18

Prams and buggies don't hold their value. Sort of like a brand new car, the second you drive it off the forecourt, it loses money because it's now "secondhand".
