Would this seem odd to you?

OP posts:
KnobZombie7 · 04/02/2018 16:52

Your reaction is odd.

Starting this thread is odd.

Did they ring in sick with broken thumbs?

Zaphodsotherhead · 04/02/2018 16:56

Plus sometimes if you've got eg a broken ankle, you might be perfectly capable of working but your work's insurance won't cover you for being in (because you couldn't easily get out in the event of a fire). So you can be, in essence, absolutely fine, but not able to be in work.

MorningCuppa · 04/02/2018 16:56

My god, what has the world come too, how pathetic is this thread.

iloveMiWadi · 04/02/2018 16:56

No.. what's a social network that exists only on a device got to do with being off sick

SunnySkiesSleepsintheMorning · 04/02/2018 16:56

YANBU. People off sick should lie in bed and not go on social media or use the phone except to inform manager of sickness. Alternatively, you could mind your own business.

rothbury · 04/02/2018 16:57

You really really like this person don't you OP?

k2p2k2tog · 04/02/2018 16:57

The list of "things people find odd and which are in fact not in the least bit odd" is growing by the second.

Shenanagins · 04/02/2018 16:58

Dear god what a strange attitude to have!

I was off with an abscess and was able to respond to a couple of basic questions, where is x file, etc from people who were trying to pick up the slack, so perfectly feasible to click on a link.

MoeSzyslaksTwinSister · 04/02/2018 16:58

I was off sick while pregnant, proper sick line in and everything and I was never off Facebook!

acatcalledjohn · 04/02/2018 16:59

Could the other FB person have accepted a friend request that may have been sent a day or two ago?

RavenLG · 04/02/2018 16:59

Biscuit ffs

Greensleeves · 04/02/2018 16:59

Was going to post what Dextro did.

Hotdoggity · 04/02/2018 17:01

Why have you only just added them on FB? Is it to nosy about to see if they're ill?

I'll never work again because I'm too sick.
What am I allowed to do?

RebootYourEngine · 04/02/2018 17:05

Depends what they were off sick for.

I have ibs and sometimes i am unfit to leave the house due to it but that doesnt stop me using my phone.

DreamyMcDreamy · 04/02/2018 17:07

Eh? Unless they've lost their sight and the use of their thumb, I don't get what your problem is? You do realise that you can lie in your sick bed with your phone if you feel up to it, don't you? Confused
Surely it's only the same as watching a bit of telly in it, or maybe reading a book.

fizzthecat1 · 04/02/2018 17:07

Oh god OP you're one of THOSE bosses Hmm

I bet you have a bad retention rate.

PurpleDaisies · 04/02/2018 17:09

Unless you saw on Facebook they’d just checked in to an extreme sports centre, you’re being totally ridiculous.

elliejjtiny · 04/02/2018 17:11

I used Facebook while I was in hdu. I mainly read rather than posted though as anything I tried to type came out in a jumbled mess, I think it was the morphine.

Catra · 04/02/2018 17:13

No ... the person who found it odd would be the odd one to me.
