Did they ring in sick with broken thumbs?

Plus sometimes if you've got eg a broken ankle, you might be perfectly capable of working but your work's insurance won't cover you for being in (because you couldn't easily get out in the event of a fire). So you can be, in essence, absolutely fine, but not able to be in work.

My god, what has the world come too, how pathetic is this thread.

No.. what's a social network that exists only on a device got to do with being off sick

SunnySkiesSleepsintheMorning · 04/02/2018 16:56

YANBU. People off sick should lie in bed and not go on social media or use the phone except to inform manager of sickness. Alternatively, you could mind your own business.

The list of "things people find odd and which are in fact not in the least bit odd" is growing by the second.

Dear god what a strange attitude to have!

I was off with an abscess and was able to respond to a couple of basic questions, where is x file, etc from people who were trying to pick up the slack, so perfectly feasible to click on a link.

I was off sick while pregnant, proper sick line in and everything and I was never off Facebook!

Could the other FB person have accepted a friend request that may have been sent a day or two ago?

I'll never work again because I'm too sick.
What am I allowed to do?

Report
RebootYourEngine · 04/02/2018 17:05

Depends what they were off sick for.

I have ibs and sometimes i am unfit to leave the house due to it but that doesnt stop me using my phone.

DreamyMcDreamy · 04/02/2018 17:07

Eh? Unless they've lost their sight and the use of their thumb, I don't get what your problem is? You do realise that you can lie in your sick bed with your phone if you feel up to it, don't you? Confused
Surely it's only the same as watching a bit of telly in it, or maybe reading a book.

Unless you saw on Facebook they’d just checked in to an extreme sports centre, you’re being totally ridiculous.

I used Facebook while I was in hdu. I mainly read rather than posted though as anything I tried to type came out in a jumbled mess, I think it was the morphine.

No ... the person who found it odd would be the odd one to me.
