Just watched the clip of Jacob rees mogg at Bristol university, when a few momentum activists try to cause havoc and stop him from talking

Whatever anyone thinks of this man, I have to say he was pretty gutsy going up to them, considering they are all hiding behind Balaclavas and scarves and there wasn't any security there.
Most politicians wouldn't have gone near them, let alone try to talk to them

I like him. Yes his views are controversial and I don't agree with some of them, but at least he stands up for what he believes in

Sorry but I believe threads stop at 1000 posts, is that right?
I never been one one past about 300 before. I am busy from now to tomorrow afternoon/evening. Wife working so I am in charge of kids and cooking.
I will check in on you all when I can, but if you fill up the thread, can I say thank for listening to me, replying to my random thoughts and encouraging to see past my bubbles. I feel honoured to speak/talk to you all, in rl, there is no way I get the chance to this
I hope I will be able to contrube to other threads in time.
Once again a sincere thank you

You would be eaten alive on reddit, unless you stick to the far left subs.

Well Make is what we call a vanguard, he exists to keep a topic hot, on the front page. Someone else comes behind and clears up.

Reddit is rough because of the Russians. Those guys are so far ahead of us. They spot us quickly, and once they frag tag you, you might as well go to lunch.

I detected this Russian named Silvio a while back on Reddit front page - she is a legend - and fragged her. She fragged me back! I have the screen cap as my desktop.

Talking in the 3rd person? Very weird.

It's nice that you hold you self in such high regard..

A vanguard is a group of people. So you are admitting this is a manned team account?

Well it is what it is isn't it? A cog.

I have an application in for the scripts section. If you can get in over there then you can work your way up to comms policy.

I think make is joking

It's like a Stewart Lee bit. Sort of clever, but runs on a little too long.

Well it does if people think you are serious Smile

Well it raises an interesting question.

If somebody comes on here and says some rightest bilge, say, "Ooooh the state is there as a last resort". Nobody bats an eye.

But if you come in with a blunt statement like, "Bankers worked the system after the crash." You are branded a bot.

There are a lot of us out here who think the system is fundamentally flawed. Not bots, but real people.

Report

No, people think you're a bot because a lot of the time you just dip into threads and spout a slogan without engaging in conversation.

And because you refuse to do things like condemn antisemitism or violence against your political opponents.

Yes, I was aware, and my point still stands...

Well thats good...

But im not sure everyone on the thread realised, hence my comment

Make, what does fragging mean in that context? I looked it up and it said American word for hand grenade.

I was thinking that when one professional poster saw another one on a thread there could be some way of tagging them so that you could track their posting stats. You could do it surreptitiously.

But a super spy poster - like the legendary Russian Silvio - would know they had been tagged (I liked the sound of fragged) he might frag you back as a sign of respect. A tip of the hat.

I mean if you are going to be a sinister Momentum bot, you have to build a whole universe....

Good morning,
Survived my day in charge, even managed to cook home made roast vegetables( made by me) for first time, it was even edible Grin
Dapple thanks for asking about fragging thought I was only one who didn't know/understand, bit like been back at school Grin
The BBC news website in it's family & education section, 7/2/2018, sorry can't link, has article about JRM talking to select committee, he says heckling can be good for politicians, and he supports people's right to protest/question. But thinks masks etc. go to far and are slightly sinister. So agreeing with the majority on her.
I still think there's more we share in common, then not
I may still not agree with his politics, but I have warmed to the man and actually admire him. never thought I say that
Thank you are listening and hope you are all well
