Just that. What time do you all get up in the morning?

I get up at 6am and it's always a struggle as I seem to be a night owl

Up at 4 am due to excessive workload in my job. At my desk by 6am.

ChesterBelloc · 29/01/2018 09:50

Gosh, HongKong, what do you do?

HongKongPhooeyNo1Superstar · 29/01/2018 09:54

Teacher.

InspiringMummy · 29/01/2018 09:55

I'm currently running a 7 day Challenge in my FB group! Getting up early and starting the day for myself, looking after how I think about myself and the day ahead, has massively supercharged my day. I'd love it if some of you joined us this week to see how earlier starts can literally supercharge your life, no matter how tired you feel. My FB group is called Inspiring Mummy Club, and it's free and open to all. If you come over, you'll see a link to how to plan the evening before. This stuff totally changed my self-confidence, my stress levels and my relationship with my children. I cannot recommend highly enough!

Cath2907 · 29/01/2018 09:55

Alarm goes off at 7:20, we get up at 7:30, everyone out the house by 8:30.

InspiringMummy · 29/01/2018 09:56

To find out how it totally transformed my life, watch this video webinar :

TheTurnOfTheScrew · 29/01/2018 10:03

I am really lucky on this front - I work locally and do flexitime. My radio alarm goes at 6.55. I drift in and out of consciousness until Garry does the sport, at which point I realised it's nearly 7.30 and panic. Out of the house at 8.35am. Kids to school, at desk at 9.15.

yikesanotherbooboo · 29/01/2018 10:07

I wake DS at 6 and we leave at 7.15. If it is a simple morning this is time to sort dogs, tidy kitchen eg empty dishwasher and wipe around, make tea for 3 , make breakfast or set out breakfast for DS , shower, dress, make packed lunch and quick tidy around.
If I have extra to do , eg ironing , admin of any sort, putting clothes away etc I get up at 5.30 but still wake DS at 6.

purplelass · 29/01/2018 10:13

I get up at 6.30, get showered and dressed in peace then wake DD up at 7 then she can have the bathroom while I do breakfast / lunch.
I can't wait for the mornings to be lighter, I find it so hard to get up when it's still dark outside!

Ski4130 · 29/01/2018 10:15

630am, I get half an hour to myself to have a cup of tea, let the dog out and get showered, then wake ds1 up at 7 and he gets ready and out the door to school by 745, dh usually leaves at the same time to get to work. Ds2 and dd get up at 745/8 ish and we leave the house at 845 to get them to school.

I work from home 930 to 230 on a Mon, Weds and Fri, and go in to the house 1, maybe 2 days a month, but the routine stays the same regardless. I’m usually up at 8 ish on a weekend and the kids and dh anytime between 9 and 11 depending on sports fixtures. I’m an early riser since having the children, and can’t seem to get back to lying in, even though they’re at an age where they do.

Ski4130 · 29/01/2018 10:16

Ugh, go in to the office 1 maybe 2 days a mo th, not house!

ThisLittleKitty · 29/01/2018 10:18

Wow I feel bad bow! I'm basically crawling out of bed at 8!! In my defence I have a 8 month old who is a terrible sleeper.

Luisa77 · 29/01/2018 10:21

I really should get up earlier!

I get up at 8! Alarm goes off at 7.30. DP usually gets up and showers at about 7.45. On days I don’t work, I do breakfast and packed lunches, then shower whilst the kids get dressed and then we leave the house for school at no later than 8.50 (school is 2 mins walk away)

On days I work, DP sorts the kids out and drops them at school on his way to work whilst I shower and leave the house by 8.30 for an hour long drive to work.

We are not morning people[/we are quite lazy]! But there is little room in this for diversions from the schedule - missing PE kit etc

5.30 seems like the middle of the night to me!

Sallystyle · 29/01/2018 10:24

On day shifts I get up at 5.30am.

When I am doing late or i'm not working I get up between 9.30-10.30am.

DH does the school run. I never do it.

Notthesoap · 29/01/2018 10:26

6:30 am and absolutely agree, I'm a night owl and get my second wind between 10/11pm.

I absolutely detest mornings with a passion.

chickenowner · 29/01/2018 10:28

6am

I make breakfast and lunch the night before, plus lay out my clothes.

I get up, make a cup of tea, do 30 minutes exercise, have a bath and get dressed, out of the door at 7am. (I'm a teacher so get to school at between 7.15 and 7.30).

I eat my breakfast at school whilst setting up for the day.

GreatDuckCookery6211 · 29/01/2018 10:28

In winter I get up about 7.20 ( alarm goes off at 7am ) and plop on the sofa with a cup of tea. In Summer I'm up with the larks at 6ish and sit in the garden if it's dry.

BrightonBollock · 29/01/2018 10:29

7.30 ..begrudgingly

Sallystyle · 29/01/2018 10:29

I am a night owl too. My body does not want to sleep until at least 1.00am.

I have to take sleeping pills the night before an early shift. It still kills me getting up at 5.30am.

NSEA · 29/01/2018 10:32

People add a go on mumsnet into their morning routine? My dh takes dd to school before he goes to work so i get up at 7 out by 8 drop da at Nursery and work by 8:30-9 depending on traffic

softkittywarmkitty28 · 29/01/2018 10:33

Kitten normally wakes me about 6. Alarm set for 6.50, get up at 7.

Have to leave at 8.35 so plenty of time to get everything done. Normally have a quiet cuppa, then wake dd at 7.30

Tarraleah · 29/01/2018 10:34

We don't have to leave for school until 8:20 (8:30 at a push if they are ready to run), so we don't have to be up until 7:30.

The latest we could get up would be 8am, but I don't like to rush in the morning, and I like to take time for breakfast, make school bags, PE bags and son on.

TiffTaffTop · 29/01/2018 10:39

I push my tired ass to get everything laid out the night before- breakfast on table, packed lunches done, water bottles, uniforms, bags, coats and shoes laid out- toothbrushes & toothpaste etc, all for that extra snooze time in the morning!
Kids wake up around 7 and head down for breakfast, I have a coffee in bed before getting downstairs for 8, and we all leave at 8.35.
Funnily enough when I have to be up for an earlier train, I actually like it, but there's no way I'd voluntarily get up earlier than was absolutely necessary!

sinceyouask · 29/01/2018 11:09

Alarm goes off at 6am and I tend to get up by 6.15. I have a shower, wash my hair, apply moisturiser. Go down and feed the cats, deal with litter trays. Pack ds2's lunch. Go outside for lovely silent morning cigarette. Make breakfast for all 3 dc, take it up to them in their rooms as it's the only way that seems to work! Make sure they all have all their clothes and things for the day. Put on makeup, do hair, get dressed. Remind ds2 to brush his teeth and get dressed. Conduct extended argument with ds2 about the need to get out of bed. Get ds3 dressed and clean, battle to brush his teeth. Out of the house with ds2 and 3 just before 8am, drop ds3 at childminder, drop ds2 at school breakfast club, get first bus.

I am not a morning person. In an ideal world I'd wake up at 10am and get myself ready without interacting with anyone else.

sinceyouask · 29/01/2018 11:23

It's ds1 I have to argue out of bed. 11 years old going on 15. School have just texted to day he arrived late again today. That will be all my fault, of course Hmm.
