Just that. What time do you all get up in the morning?

I get up at 6am and it's always a struggle as I seem to be a night owl

anyoldname76 · 31/01/2018 17:02

IcelandicWarriors · 31/01/2018 19:20

I'm in bed for around 830 to read! DH sleeps down stairs the 3-4 times I'm up at 5 because I can't cope with his snoring. Lights off around 930 - 10.

All very groundhog day.

speakout · 31/01/2018 19:32

I go to bed at 9pm on the dot.

Cup of chamomile tea then lights out.

Bliss.

MsHarry · 31/01/2018 19:33

10-11pm up at 6.50/7

Dingdong1975 · 31/01/2018 19:40

6am, get ready for work and kids to childminder and school. Fall asleep on the couch around 10.30pm.

Enidblyton1 · 31/01/2018 19:47

Alarm goes off at 7, have cup of tea and stumble out of bed by 7.30. Leave house for school run at 8. Always a massive rush!
Lights off 11ish - but sometimes nearer to 12. Wish I could go to sleep at 10 every night so I felt refreshed in the morning, but I just can't manage to go to bed that early.

AmberTopaz · 31/01/2018 19:49

Up at 7. Leave at 7.45 to get the DC to school and me to work. Bed around 11.

SilentBob · 31/01/2018 21:41

Currently giving the bloke a lift to his car share for Work so alarm has changed from 4:44 to 4:00am.

People getting up at 4/5am, I don’t know how you do it! Curious how many seem to do this to know why - I thought most schools / jobs start around 830/9am?

I wake at 730. My two kids wake anytime from 5-630am but my dh who’s an early bird is already up then and gives them breakfast and cleans their teeth. At 730 the kids jump on me to wake me up. I spend 15 mins cuddling them then I get out of bed at 745 and get myself and them dressed, bags packed, hair brushed and out the door by 8.15.

cakeflower · 31/01/2018 22:10

I meant curious given how many seem to do this...

...I do the school/Nursery run for 45 mins and am at my desk (wfh) at 9.

WeeM · 31/01/2018 22:13

@cakeflower I work full time over four days so start at 7am and my commute is about 30-40 mins each way. I wish I could wfh!!

hazeyjane · 31/01/2018 22:18

Im up at 4/5 because Ds has additional needs and doesn't do sleep

Appuskidu · 31/01/2018 22:19

I thought most schools / jobs start around 830/9am

I’m a teacher. Children are in at 8.45, morning briefing starts at 8am, I’m in at 7.15am to get my classroom prepared. I have an 15 minute drive so get up at 6.

DH starts at 8.30am but has a 2 hour door-to-door commute so leaves early.

Long commutes and early starts must be fairly commonplace, surely.

clarkl2 · 31/01/2018 22:33

6am. Do packed lunches (currently soup or pasta), feed the dog (12yr old walks him). Shower, drop 8yr old at childminder at 7.45 and get train to work

Gide · 31/01/2018 22:53

6.15. Used to be 5.30, but thank god for my sharer, she does mornings with the horse. I luffs her!

meandmytinfoilhat · 01/02/2018 00:08

8am

JoandMax · 01/02/2018 04:57

Cake flower - we aren’t in the UK and school here starts at 7.15am. DH also starts work around 7am so we’re all up early...... Even though I’ve been doing it for years I hate having to get up so early and still miss the leisurely getting ready school days from before we moved abroad!

IcelandicWarriors · 01/02/2018 05:34

I start work at 620 with a 45 min commute. I work through lunch and leave at 1410 to pick DD up from School. I'll logged in for a short time later just to pick up emails. Do it so DD isn't in after school clubs. DH does the drop off.

meltingsugar · 01/02/2018 05:35

5.30. I don't have DC and won't start work til 8.30

SnackSnackEatAndCrave · 01/02/2018 05:57

5.10 if my hair needs washing, 5.30 if not. I get ready, get DD up at 6.15, leave at 6.50 to walk to catch the bus to nursery.
Nursery just after 7.30, then catch a bus across town to work, start about 8, 8.15. It's a very long morning and my journey time would be halved if a) my company hadn't closed our office in town, b) I could afford a car. But we manage.

purplehaze24 · 02/02/2018 12:11

I get up at 7.30 then rush around like a tit trying to get ready to do nursery run with twins. (I'm always late) I'm planning to get up earlier in preparation for school or be "that mum" at the school gates Grin

OMGafourth · 04/02/2018 02:41

On a work day 5am (start work at 6am), on a school day alarm goes off at 6.30am, finally prize myself out of bed at 7am...
