Just that. What time do you all get up in the morning?

I get up at 6am and it's always a struggle as I seem to be a night owl

5.30 leave house at 6. How i miss the days of being self employed and having a better work life balance. 5.30 starts are slowly killing me. Hpping gets better in summer. When light it will help im sure.

Snowysky20009 · 29/01/2018 11:53

Alarm goes off at 5:40, hit snooze until I get up at 6am.
Make a coffee and have a cigarette (I know, I know!), empty the dishwasher, washing machine, and tumble dryer. Then fill the washing machine and tumble dryer. Iron any clothes for the day. MN for a bit whilst I have my coffee, then shower and teeth. Wake the boys at 6:50, 6:55, 7:00,7:05, 7:10, 7:15 until they finally emerge. They rarely eat breakfast despite be nagging them each morning.
Send ds2 to his bus at 7:45, or drive him to other other bus stop if he's catching a different bus (only a 5 min drive). Come back and leave at 7:50-7:55 to take ds2 for his bus, home around 8:20-8:25.
Still want to get a little more organised in the mornings though, by ironing the clothes the night before!

mindutopia · 29/01/2018 11:57

6:30-7am, we leave for school at 8:15, though rarely actually out of bed before 6:45/7am. We have plenty of time to get dressed, have breakfast, pack up and go without getting up earlier. But on the days I used to work away, 5:15, leaving the house at 5:45 (dh would do the school run).

phoenix1973 · 29/01/2018 11:58

Most days it's about 6.30. I get up to make him tea before he works. Then i start on packed lunches, omlettes or toast for breakfast.
On my non work days, dd now walks herself to school.
On my work days i leave at 8. It takes 15 minutes to walk. This will change at Easter.

petbear · 29/01/2018 12:02

I work 24 hours a week, and I do flexi time, and can work between 7am and 7pm. So I generally do 9.30am to 6pm, over 3 days, or 9.30am to 3.30pm over 4 days. My usual waking time is 8am. Kids have left home, and DH has usually left (or is still in bed if he is not at work,) so it's just me to get ready.

Kim82 · 29/01/2018 12:03

I got up at 7.30 today. Got the 3 girls up, had a shower, dressed, dried my hair, did lunchboxes, got 3 year old washed and dressed (elder 2 are 10 and 13 so sort themselves), ready for 8.30am, woke ds(16) up for college and left for the school/Nursery run at Just gone 8.30.

Tomorrow I’ll get up at 6.30 as I need to leave at 7.40 to do Nursery/school drop off and be at work for 8am.

Lethaldrizzle · 29/01/2018 12:03

7.30am. Leave for school 8 40am.

HelenaJustina · 29/01/2018 12:05

6.25am. Gives me 25 minutes to myself before DC alarms go off. I say ‘to myself’, I’m emptying dishwasher, washing machine, setting table, cooking porridge...

Am a lark so it’s not impossible for me. But I do resent it if I have to get up before 7am at the weekends.

Frequency · 29/01/2018 12:29

As late as humanly possible. I can't cope with mornings, especially in the winter. It is not possible for me to wake up when it's still dark.

I've mastered the art of being lazy. I wash and blowdry my hair the night before so it only needs a quick swipe with the flat irons. Packed lunches, school, college and work bags all packed the night before. DD2's hair in a tight braid the night before.

We get up at 8am and are out of the door by 8:40am. School and college are just around the corner. If I'm working that's either from home or literally next door but one.

BlooperReel · 29/01/2018 12:41

5.45. Myself and 2 kids to get ready to leave the house for approximately 7.20am 9 I dont wake the kids til 6.30), drop to childcare then head on to work. I live in a state of perpetual tiredness

Dustysparrow · 29/01/2018 12:44

6am, so that I can do as much as possible before the school run and get on with work as soon as I get back home. Hellish in the winter when it's dark, but actually don't mind it much in the summer when it's already light, it's so much easier to get up.

MTBMummy · 29/01/2018 12:46

5am, get up, walk dog, shower dress, make coffee for other half and leave at 6:25 for 90 minute commute to work.

In bed by 10pm every night, otherwise I couldn't cope with it

Slartybartfast · 29/01/2018 12:52

6.20

Slartybartfast · 29/01/2018 12:53

See, I am too lazy to do all the stuff the night before. It has to be done in the morning

Frequency · 29/01/2018 13:06

I don't do all the stuff the night before. We all do our own. I do my hair, DD2's hair and DD2's sandwich. She packs the rest of her lunch and her bag. My college/work bag are never unpacked, so never need packing.

DD1 is not one of us. She gets up in the middle of the night by choice Shock.

The dog is walked at lunch and after dinner. He'd crack up if he was only walked on a morning. Plus, he's also a lazy sod and needs tipping out of his bed (literally) at 8:15 so he can use the garden before I go to work.

Anyone who cleans on a morning needs therapy imo. Life is way too short for that shit and my bed is way too warm. Clean as you go, it's much easier.

Hippadippadation · 29/01/2018 13:50

I get up at 6 for a cup of tea and get dressed in peace before the DC come down & getting them breakfast & sorted etc. They tend to come down about 6.30 / 7, although a couple of times they've heard my alarm and have come down with me. Gah.

We don't have to leave until 8.30 but getting up so early means that we're not stressed and rushing and shouting.

peachgreen · 29/01/2018 14:57

DH gets up and makes breakfast at 6ish. I'm out of bed by 6.25, and we leave the house at 7. About to have a baby though so I suspect things might change a smidge...!

geekymommy · 29/01/2018 15:00

6, and I refuse on principle to get up any earlier than that. I'm a night owl. I nap on the weekends to make up for the sleep I miss during the week.

fishonabicycle · 29/01/2018 15:04

5.45. I leave for the train at about 6.40.

Trinity66 · 29/01/2018 15:08

My alarm goes off at 7:30, get up around 7:45, I'm out the door at 8:30am, my kids are teenagers though so they get themselves ready for school and I drop them on my way to work

Mumto2two · 29/01/2018 15:10

6.30 here..but winter morns never get any easier. Summer mornings am often up long before the alarm.
Very much a night owl. Second wind at 10pm most nights..usually in bed by 12 and asleep by 12.30.
We're all wired differently I suppose. Both dc seem to be night owls too, but pretty good at getting up when they have to. DHs family seem to be the opposite, his sister has just changed jobs, so has s 6am alarm call, and is really struggling. Is tucked up asleep in bed every night by 9pm! And sleeps in till midday on the weekends...it's enough to make you yawn Shock

FindoGask · 29/01/2018 15:11

4.30 am on the four days I go to the gym - I could shave that to 4.45 am if I didn't fanny about so much, but no later. 7.00 am on the non gym day.

midnightmisssuki · 29/01/2018 15:17

6.30am offically but my son comes in our bed for a feed at 5-ish and im only barely asleep till my alarm goes off. I leave the house at 8am after helping with getting kids ready etc, sometimes earlier.

Saladd0dger · 29/01/2018 15:18

7.30 on School days. Eldest has her own alarm and gets herself ready and leaves. I wake the younger 2 at 7.45. I work evenings during the week so no rushing for work. Sat morning is a 3.45am wake up call for work though 😐

Taffeta · 29/01/2018 15:22

7 - out of door with secondary age DC at 7.45

I work from home sometimes start at 8 sometimes 9
