To think that La La land is awful

Just that. We've put it on Netflix.
I wasn't desperate to see It, but you know, heard good things.
40 mins in and..well, I'm posting about how shit I think it is in here.
Do I need to give it more of a chance, or put Friends on?

I went to a preview-the film was long and boring (found myself trying to sneak a glance at my watch). The ending was a let down- not feel good film at all- left on a real downer.

The dancing wasn't good- I was there with a dancer- they said it was poor. One was better at singing and 1 was better at dancing but I cant remember which was which.

Yes they're slappable.
Yes I love most genres (Not Fast and Furious), but jaysus.
I watched Mama Mia with my mother, she was welling up, I took night nurse to dull the pain.

I watched it yesterday and found it disappointingly underwhelming. Really didn't like the end either. I also put Friends on straight after (Ross and the white teeth)

La la Land seems to be another Mama Mia to me - poor imitations of musicals.

Moulin Rouge was a ugly looking cacophony to me. But people loved that too.

Mama Mia I forgive because Pierce Brosnan made me laugh.

I liked it but HATED the ending!

Mamma Mia was an abomination IMO.

But some people liked it.

So it's all subjective.

It is as dull as dish water. We watched it after MIL got it for us saying how wonderful it was. Crap.

The last musical I liked was Tangled!

I fell asleep watching it....twice!

I love musicals

DD was initially a fan but when she had rewatched a few times she started to notice the lack of depth compared to more favourite musicals. She has switched her allegance to The Greatest Showman (which I still need to go & see)

AntArtic I quite liked Moana.

I loved La La land but it is not in the same league as musicals like Singing in the Rain but I don't think it's trying to be either.

I’m so happy to see there are other people in the world who thought La La Land was a steaming pile of shite! For a long time I felt like I was betraying the musical fandom by not liking it as it seemed so critically adored! Felt like a shameful secret that I would whisper in my bedroom I don’t actually like La La Land Glad to hear you’ve made the sensible decision and gone over to friends!

YANBU. I wanted to love it, I really did. Hated it though.

YANBU - I went to see it at the bloody pictures. It was so galling paying a tenner to see it. Dull, dull, dull.
