Yuck!
Just before the @realDonaldTrump interview with @piersmorgan starts the President says “Thanks for all your nice stuff” to Piers - what does he mean ?

Psst, pass it on. The first meeting of the 'secret society' is tonight. Remember, the password is 'covfefe'.

I caught a bit of Donnie’s Big Talk in a taxi earlier this afternoon. He was miraculously cogent and managed to stay on script for the duration of my journey. It saddened me to notice how much this astonished me. I can only conclude he had a handful of ritalin with his breakfast and wasn’t allowed any coke (take that how you will) until after his speech.

Gumpendorf · 26/01/2018 19:22

Thanks for the new thread. I thought he sounded sedated boatyard but he brightened up in the Q&A so maybe the speech bored him too.

He was also sniffing a lot... Confused

Many thanks for the new thread, Perking. Thanks
The last one went super quick

NEW: Mueller's team has interviewed Facebook staff associated with the Trump campaign as part of the Russia investigation. (plus your daily reminder that an interview is not an implication of guilt)

'The scorched-earth attacks against the FBI by a growing number of House and Senate Republicans demonstrate a high degree of fear that special counsel Robert Mueller will make blockbuster moves in the coming days and weeks that will define the fate of ongoing investigations of the Russian attack against America.'

Thanks for the new thread! Just catching up.

Awesome thread. The NYT thinks Melania has basically checked out.

boatyardblues · 26/01/2018 20:20

The NYT thinks Melania has basically checked out.

I don’t blame her at all. Considering how badly he treats her in public, I don’t see why she should prop him up. Compared to all the arselickers in the WH, she’s not enabling him. Good on you Melania!

It would be awesome if she started covertly trolled him by supporting and doing fundraisers for progressive women’s organisations and charities.

I will be on @jaketapper @CNN at 4PM EST today to talk about the Mueller news, the oped below, and why I think the news that Trump tried to fire Mueller may portend the end of the Trump Presidency. (These are words I've not used before.)

www.washingtonpost.com/news/posteverything/wp/2018/01/26/yes-trump-can-fire-mueller-but-a-normal-president-would-know-not-to-try-it/?utm_term=.1a84fb1267e9

lionheart · 26/01/2018 20:42

Wonder if that is the news that is about circulate?

Natsku · 26/01/2018 21:03

Checking in to the lovely new thread. The threads are going so quickly at the moment it's hard to keep up.

AcrossthePond55 · 26/01/2018 21:03

knock 3 times and whisper 'covfefe' lion Wink

As far as the SotU (State of the Union) speech, I have no intention of watching it. I'd burst a blood vessel. We will watch Rep Kennedy's rebuttal however. And Rachel.

I've heard that the Dems want to stack the gallery with Dreamers and sexual harassment survivors. I hope they do. Not that Scrotus will give a shit, but a statement is still a statement.

Minimammoth · 26/01/2018 21:17

Checking in, as long as it’s not a fake fred.

lionheart · 26/01/2018 21:18

I will Across.

Yes, a statement is a statement.

This is huge. This is the very rich guy the GOP relies upon to get other very rich guys to write really big checks to the GOP.

This is a good thread but I’m afraid I can’t copy it all across

Mueller almost certainly won't indict Trump – not because it would be unconstitutional, but because Mueller's authority is very different from Ken Starr's was. I can explain. 1/
