I think 😊 is obviously blushing so interpret it as mild embarrassment.

tinsel no that one is eye rolling. Not the same by any means. MN’s version has just the right touch of incredulity/sarcasm/questioning/challenging to make it perfectly usable in so many situations.

Eye rolling is good, too, but doesn’t fit in nearly as many contexts.

Plus the smiley face ( regular) is sarcastic in most circles I move in ( early 20s) and means something’s wrong.

Emojis display differently depending on how you're viewing them. MN has their own set (completely different from the actual MN smileys like :o) of emoji overrides which will show up instead of your default ones. They did this because at some point, Windows browsers didn't natively show emojis, so only mobile users would see them. This is now redundant because all major operating systems now support emoji natively, so they never update them for the new sets.

What's happening in your post is the first picture is MN's native emoji override, and in your second picture you're seeing them as per your device, they look like the Apple set, so I guess you're posting from an iphone.

Emoji flags aren't really one character, they're expressed as two letters. The letters combine to create the right flag. But MN's set doesn't have the combined ones so it just shows the two characters separately. This is the same for any which have a specific skin colour - that's why sometimes you'll see a little person and then a square of what looks like a fabric swatch.
