😊

That?

I have to tell you that EVERY time I see it I get irritated.

Smug...little smug face with it's "cute" blushing cheeks.

I want to drop kick it.

What do you think it conveys when you use it if you do?

museumum · 25/01/2018 10:31

I think it’s bliss isn’t it. Bliss is a bit like smug. But in a nice way. In fact they’re sort of the same thing just depends if you like the person. Bliss is aww lovely if it’s your bff getting a well deserved massage, it’s smug cow if it’s a frenemy seaming off for yet another spa day.

Bluntness100 · 25/01/2018 10:31

Slightly embarassed smile. Can't see the issue with it myself.Confused.

Slanetylor · 25/01/2018 10:33

I thought it meant proud but slightly embarrrased. When someone compliments you for an an achievement.
I've no idea what Biscuit means here. Blush I thought it had something to do with trolls?

Wetwashing00 · 25/01/2018 10:34

Post orgasm happiness 😊

hazeyjane · 25/01/2018 10:34

The only emoji I like using is Smile and even then I sometimes worry that it looks like I'm being sarcastic

Grin makes me feel like I am saying 'hey guys, I'm so kerazeee!'
Hmm makes me feel like I'm being passive aggressive and a cocky arse
Angry and Sad feel inappropriate because if I'm angry or sad about something then it looks glib to use an emoji, I'd rather use words (It feels like I'm saying, 'you lost all your world belongings in a natural disaster, aw sad face'.....'someone broke into your house! Grrr angry face'.....see glib
I'm not sure about blush face, it just says, 'Irritatingly cute baby face, but with slap cheek' to me.
I think that maybe I overthink things.

WonderLime · 25/01/2018 10:35

I thought it meant happiness with additional warmth - like, “your new haircut looks lovely 😊”

(As an aside, when I typed ‘lovely’ that emoji came up in my predictive text box).

GreatDuckCookery6211 · 25/01/2018 10:35

It's just a smile.

Basseting · 25/01/2018 10:36

Yes, bliss/smug depending on context.
I should know....
I watched the WHOLE of the Emoji movie with my 10 yr old recently.
That is 90m of my life I am never getting back! Shock

SwarmOfCats · 25/01/2018 10:37

Emojis are like a foreign hecking language.

What even is 🙌🏻 (usually used in a group of three for some reason)? I see it on Facebook all the time and...I just...am I old or something?

Puppymouse · 25/01/2018 10:37

I find 🙂 quite uncomfortable for some reason. I am a total people pleaser so my smile emojis are always the more extreme ones! Ridiculous cow... 😂

I have a couple of friends who use that simple one above and I always feel slightly manic compared to them and that they're just tolerating me

PositivelyPERF · 25/01/2018 10:37

Blushing 😊 blushing ☺️ When I type blushing into my iPhone these immediately come appear, so that’s that sorted! 😚

HolgerDanske · 25/01/2018 10:37

It’s a very happy and contented smile. It’s not smug at all, to me.

Basseting · 25/01/2018 10:38
MedicinalGin · 25/01/2018 10:38

Can I jump on this bandwagon too please and ask you all what this one means:

😬

I see it all the bloody time and I don’t know what to think of it.

🤨🤔🤯

Pepperedbeef · 25/01/2018 10:39

I use it all the time, often in place of a kiss or where a kiss is just too much for the recipient

WonderLime · 25/01/2018 10:39

I realise after typing “your haircut looks lovely” isn’t really a ‘happiness with extra warmth’ kinda thing. So maybe I’d also use it when complimenting someone.

PositivelyPERF · 25/01/2018 10:40

Your predictive text is lying 🤥 to you blooming. 🤨

PositivelyPERF · 25/01/2018 10:42

That’s a fake smile medicinal.

Arseface · 25/01/2018 10:42

Grin Stealth

I thought it was an embarrassed/self conscious smile?

HolgerDanske · 25/01/2018 10:46

Yeah looks like smiling through gritted teeth.

PositivelyPERF · 25/01/2018 10:46

The biscuit one is given to a poster that is thought to be goady or lying, slain.

Puppymouse · 25/01/2018 10:47

I use that as a sort of grimace Medicinal - e.g. Starting that diet on Monday 😬😬😬

WonderLime · 25/01/2018 10:47

Actually on reflection I use it when I’m trying to show sincerity in my happiness even if I don’t mean it

“That sounds like a lovely idea ☺️“

ForFuckSakeSusan · 25/01/2018 10:49

😊 - I use this to mean a genuine, friendly smile
🙂 - Passive aggressive
🙃 - FFS (be interested to know how others interrupt upside down smile?)

BeyondThePage · 25/01/2018 10:50

they all look the same to me if I don't go find my glasses. So I don't use them from fear of putting something REALLY inappropriate.
