Why do I find Phillip and Holly so annoying!!

So, just caught the last bit of This Morning and is it just me or have they become really smug lately? Their egos are through the roof and the way they try and find something really funny and burst out laughing is getting a bit tiresome. These hilarious innuendos or slip of the tongues are not set up at all by them or the production team boring. They can never top Fern Britton's 'see you don't mind dunking a bit of beef' gaff, much as they try.

I do prefer Eamonn and Ruth, much more humble and in touch with the viewers.

Am I the only one who feels like this? I am not Fern Britton by the way Grin

Used to love Philip when I was younger now absolutely can't stand him and his smugness with bloody Holly. They would eat themselves if they were chocolate.

Agree Eamonn and Ruth need to do This Morning.

Raver84 · 24/01/2018 13:59

Can't stand either of them or the programme itself it's full of random drivel and they never interview anyone long enough or cover a topic for a decent amount of time to actually learn anything about it. Waste of time. Format very tired.

HidingFromTheWorld · 24/01/2018 14:00

Because they’re immature, unprofessional and overpaid.

And anyone else behaving as they do in any other workplace would soon find themselves on the receiving end of a P45.

JaneJeffer · 24/01/2018 14:00

I bet they didn't drink much at all. It's a bit pathetic trying to be down with the kids.

Taffeta · 24/01/2018 14:01

I’ve never liked them

They are both spectacularly average

I read somewhere recently about someone that knew them through work and said neither of them are very nice

Not surprised

DH never comments on anyone on the telly but utterly loathes Phillip Schofield

TheImprobableGirl · 24/01/2018 14:01

In all fairness wifey as I stand I would probably eat myself should I also happen to be made of chocolate

Teapotmadam · 24/01/2018 14:05

they are bloody awful. Phil is looking about 100 and very thin, she is beautiful but the constant laughing hysterically at nothing or some over done innuendo which is neither funny or clever.

Neither of them are even particularly good interviewers either.

Ruth and Eammon are far far better.

The80sweregreat · 24/01/2018 14:08

Don’t watch and listen to the radio instead. Some really good channels and I love a ‘phone in’ or music one sometimes.

Notagainmun · 24/01/2018 14:10

Yeah the hilarious laughter and tears of mirth have worn thin and feel fake now. Coming into work with a hangover is unprofessional. Time for Ruth and Eamonn to take over fully.

DecoysBitch · 24/01/2018 14:11

YY O.P., yes yes and another Y.Y. On top. They make me cringe.

Sallystyle · 24/01/2018 14:11

Yeah, pair of idiots.

user764329056 · 24/01/2018 14:12

Both of them smug and self satisfied, can’t watch anything they’re on, Dancing on Ice probably a half decent show but having them as presenters means I never see it, think ITV should bin them, their egos have taken over, there are plenty of presenters around who would do a better job

PigletWasPoohsFriend · 24/01/2018 14:12

Must admit I look forward to their increasing holidays now so we get Eamon and Ruth.

Only a couple of weeks and they are bound to be off Wink

Gottagetmoving · 24/01/2018 14:13

They do come across as smug. Holly's squeaky sometimes raspy voice irritates me and Phil's sycophantic attitude to guests is cringey. Phil does the hushed tone voice when they cover anything tragic which sounds fake.

UterusUterusGhali · 24/01/2018 14:13

I've not seen it much, but the dummy corpsing is intolerable.

See also Bradley Walsh, who is so obviously faking laughter on that gameshow it's uncomfortable.

tellitermine · 24/01/2018 14:14

Bring back back Richard and Judy!

TempusEejit · 24/01/2018 14:15

Same, it's like the "hilarious" bloopers they leave in on Mrs Browns Boys (not my cup of tea, my DSCs watch it), so contrived.

Judashascomeintosomemoney · 24/01/2018 14:15

Philip and Fern were so natural together, and it was tv gold when they were on, I guess someone somewhere st ITV has decreed they must recreate that ‘natural chemistry’. They unfortunately believe that old quote ‘ The secret of success is sincerity, if you can fake that you’ve got it made’ Smile

I can't bear Lorraine kelly!

Keith lemon either 🤔😳

Yes Phil and Fern, much nicer to watch. Don’t like the fake hilarity of Phil and Holly.

hellsbellsmelons · 24/01/2018 14:23

I love them both and they make me seriously LOL.
I don't watch the programme though.
Just their 'funnies' on Youtube!
I could watch them over and over - hilarious!

mrsharrison · 24/01/2018 14:23

When Holly laughs so much that she crouches down to the floor - oh my that's when the tv goes off in my house.

I'm not sure of their training but i can tell eamon and ruth are trained journalists - highly professional but their marriage brings warmth to their presenting.

Holly and phil - just do one.

DecoysBitch · 24/01/2018 14:25

Holly has a lovely figure and nice teeth but beautiful, no. That wouldn't matter though if the personality was there.

Phil has totally bought into the egotistical silver-fox persona and prob couldn't fight his way out of that stereotype if he wanted to cause he doesn't.

Mrsmadevans · 24/01/2018 14:26

YADNBU OP
I actually hate the pair of SMUG bastards and wish they were banished from the screen.
There I said it .
