As above (at the risk of sounding tin foil hat) and if we're not, what the hell is going on in the world, what's causing it?

it's obvious now that the "services" for which we all pay for, no longer serve us, we serve them. This includes schools, hv, ss, etc. As for mp's they're completely under the thumb.

I think I see them as systems to navigate or work with for a common outcome.

I had awful experience during third pg - we were shocked by MW who lied about test results she was trying to bully us into doing what she thought best which ignored my previous history and our current circumstances. That was a very shocking experience and her unprofessionalism led to a situation that could have killed me or my child.

Other family member have has situations where things haven’t been checked or done or they try and put you off as the budgets are tight and they hope someone else will step in.

Despite that experience most HCP I have dealt with are professional, dedicated and doing their very best.

I’ve had the odd awkward teacher who will not work with us or our child – though most are more dedicated than ones I had and the schools more caring then one DH and I attended.

HV for me have ranged for pragmatic and useful to one it's best to nod and smile and say yes a lot at for other mother's they have been a lifeline and a way of accessing much needed help.

I don’t see conspiracy but humans sometime failing or systems not working as well as hoped and last few years chronic underfunding in many public services.

hang on a mo. Are people doubting the existence of Finland? I must ask my Finnish friend if he is real.

BMW6 · 25/01/2018 13:23

Ah, so you are one of the "enlightened" ones OP..........the usual superiority complex that all avid conspiracy theorists exhibit.

Falmer · 25/01/2018 14:30

I understand you now BlackBerry, I've seen you on other threads.

Witches, you'd have to be on another planet to think it's all absolute tosh? BMW6, you think questioning things makes me an avid conspiracist?

I always though 1984 was a warning not a blueprint 😳

whooptifeckindo · 25/01/2018 14:43

Op, entertaining some of the nonsensical theories you have mentioned (under the guise of being open-minded) makes you prey to conspiracy theories. Giving credence to this nonsense just serves to distract us all from genuine concerns of the day and elevates those who spout this nonsense to an undeserved position of relevance.

Falmer · 25/01/2018 14:45

theEagle, that was awful and what would make a mw put you and baby at risk? We hear more and more of these type of experiences, where professionals are deliberately ignoring reports/records.

Vitalogy · 25/01/2018 14:47

What’s the Stephen Hawking conspiracy theory?
I'm not sure what to think of it to tell you the truth but it seems to show that the carer/wife was pretending to feed him. He wouldn't be able to chew solid food. No one has ever lived for 50+ with ALS.

whooptifeckindo · 25/01/2018 14:50

Op, you can find tons of examples in MN of shit health care professionals. I could bore everyone rigid with the dreadful maternity care I received. It doesn't mean there is a mass conspiracy against "us". It means people are standing up for themselves more and calling out bad care.

whoop how do you feel about having your dc's lunchboxes checked at school? Do you think that's normal? theEagle you see them as systems to navigate, so why are you paying to have to do that, rather than just receive what you're entitled to? You've paid for it!

Paternalism.

We were willing to listen to medical reasons to do what she wanted - hence her lying about tests results. But her dismissing my previous experience of labour and circumstances and insisting it was her way or nothing didn’t cut it with us and we asked question with GP and her lies were discovered.

It didn’t stop she got some like minded colleagues to tell different lies – and that point we went to management who back us and assured us we’d have nothing to do with that MW and they were re-training.

Management claimed it was all sorted but I think she arse covered by bad mouthing us other MW who ended up dismissing us but then doctoring notes to arse cover which management in a de-brief picked up.

My previous experinces with MW had been fantastic but this unit was very Paternalism and I heard similar themed stories from some other mother's. Though also a lot of really good stories as well.

Falmer · 25/01/2018 15:12

It's like paying for an item in a shop and them saying, no you can't have it yet, you'll have to negotiate for it and even then we might not give it to you, send us a few emails, fill in a few forms and we'll see what we can do! And we all put up with it and the following week, we give the shop some more money.

OP posts:
theEagleIsLost · 25/01/2018 15:12

heEagle you see them as systems to navigate, so why are you paying to have to do that,

Because they are big systems/Institutions with lots of individuals with their own issues in grapping last few years with huge underfunding. Sometimes it’s finding the right person, right department or correct funding pot.

Lweji · 25/01/2018 15:13

We hear more and more of these type of experiences, where professionals are deliberately ignoring reports/records.

It's called being unprofessional, careless, lazy, or bad at their work. Hardly requires a widespread conspiracy.
In fact, a conspiracy would require too much concerted effort. Not believable at all.

Lweji · 25/01/2018 15:15

Also, you're not paying directly for state services. Your shop comparison doesn't work.

Sorry blackberry, should have explained. Having trouble keeping up, one finger typing on a broken down phone. I meant you seem nice person on other threads and you have dc's. On here you're completely different and I concluded (maybe wrongly) that the subject scares you, and the thought of dc's future.

OP posts:
Falmer · 25/01/2018 15:45

There you go again blackberry, nastiness. You could have just said "what do you mean, op" It's ironic that you said "personal attacks with no evidence", when you've diagnosed me with mental illness! But what I'm getting at, is that you're not at all like this on other threads, so this subject really affects you. Yet you still hang around?

Op, I don't like my DD's lunch box being checked at school. Sledgehammer to crack a nut. I also don't like seeing all the overweight children at DD's school. Not fair on them but not my business.
I don't think that my DD's occasional Friday biscuit is recorded on a Matrix style database, though. And there are laws to deal with that if it is.

Falmer · 25/01/2018 16:01

That all sounds terrible theEagle, and at a time when you need to stay relaxed and have peace! Flowers
