As above (at the risk of sounding tin foil hat) and if we're not, what the hell is going on in the world, what's causing it?

Grin Grin You've seen right through me! I would love to go to Narnia, one of my favourite books was the lion, the witch and the wardrobe. Still remember the magical feeling when reading it, even now after ahem number of years.

Her favourite place was portugal because apparently smoking weed is allowed!

She missed the opportunity to go for harder stuff. Only dealing is penalised.

OP, I take it you’re rightly of the view that the Finland conspiracy is nonsense, but there do seem to be some true believers. Should we just listen to their views respectfully, or can we dismiss it as nonsense?

If we can dismiss it, can we not do that with Flat Earth theory too?

The Finland conspiracy states that Finland is not a real country. Not only is it not a real country but there is actually no landmass there at all, and the space between Sweden and Russia is actually empty ocean.

I am interested. How do they explain the Finnish Winter War, companies such as Lahti and Nokia. Or the border between Norway Sweden and Russia?

Nokia actually comes from the Japanese word for fake

Kursk · 24/01/2018 18:16

So what about the winter war?

Lweji · 24/01/2018 19:04

Fake war, obviously.

My dad was engaged to. Finnish woman before he met and married my Mum. Or was he ......?Hmm
I went for a job interview where the posting was Finland. The interviewer told me that I wouldn't like it there so he wasn't going to give me the job. Maybe he saved me from disappearing into a wormhole.
I used to work with some Finnish people. Or at least they SAID that was where they were from .....Hmm
OMG! I got tango-ed!!!

klondike, I would think omg, but listen to their reasons for thinking that. If I strongly disagreed I would probably leave the thread. I wouldn't be diagnosing mental illness or calling anyone a nutjob, that's nasty and abusive. Not only to the recipient but anyone reading who does have mental illness.

Does anyone have views on vaccinations? We had the kids vaccinated but we don't have the 'flu jabs, ourselves.

Lweji, that's not a "missed opportunity". She has more sense than to take the hard stuff, thankfully.

Does anyone watch the UK Column news, alternative news programme?

OP, you'll like this quote

The children now love luxury. They have bad manners, contempt for authority; they show disrespect for elders and love chatter in place of exercise

Guess who wrote it? Socrates, 470 BC.

Yup - shit has been happening for a looooong time.

If she had any sense she wouldn't smoke weed either.

Drug taking in Portugal is not allowed because it's considered harmless but because the user should not be penalised. Only the trafficker. It's linked to support to quit drugs.

Leilaniiii · 25/01/2018 09:30

What’s the Stephen Hawking conspiracy theory?

Falmer · 25/01/2018 11:27

According to the link pp sent, we're being lied to and it is not the real Mr.Hawkins that we see on tv.

I think I've worked out why people don't want to listen or even think about it and are angry, lashing out. It's fear that there maybe is something "going on" but they want to stay in denial. I was like that at first, but it's obvious now that the "services" for which we all pay for, no longer serve us, we serve them. This includes schools, hv, ss, etc. As for mp's they're completely under the thumb. Everyone knows but it's scary, it's easier to label people paranoid, mentally ill, etc. I was expecting that but still wanted to hear others' views.

Or they think it's absolute tosh.

Op, public services failing before our eyes , particularly the NHS, isn't caused by the Deep State messing with us. We have high expectations and public services have less and less money to fulfill them.
It's a discussion we need to have as a country as grown ups.
We're not being fucked over by the illuminati as a grand plan to turn us all into drones.
