Why would anyone fake SH. What for?
And keep in mind that it would have to involve his first wife and his children.

The theory goes that SH died but because he was so trusted by the public, NASA decided to replace him with a lookalike so that new scientific theories could be presented through him to give them extra credibility.
Then the lookalike died and, for the same reason, NASA replaced him with a hologram.
Amazingly, the original switch was never noticed by any of SH’s friends, family , students, colleagues, acquaintances or anyone in the media or general public at the time. Or maybe everyone is in on it.
The person behind the theory admits they have no evidence but thinks that (a) his teeth now look different, and (b) that SH has far outlived the life expectancy of someone with ALS to the point where it’s an impossibility that be could still be alive.
The reason SH’s bottom teeth have become more prominent is medical and due to facial muscular degeneration.
Yes, he is one of the longest living people with ALS (perhaps the longest living) but there have been other rare cases where people have lived (or are still alive) for decades beyond their diagnosis. The disease itself is still not that well understood and SH is believed to have a slowly progressing form.
The theory also seems to depend on other scientists being happy to not have their work attributed to them. I would also question how many of the general public actually know or care about SH’s theories or physics in general.
To me it’s one of the mostly deeply stupid conspiracies out there and is also pretty damn offensive.
