Wtf is this programme? It's so awkward and ridiculous even my baby looks confused. I googled the presenters and they seem to be children's tv royalty yet they are so cringey together! There's no real AIBU except AIBU to physically cringe each time it comes on?!

Same smile.....now that's one that irritated the fuck out of me. Is it still on?

No, thank the Lord!

Nanny0gg · 17/01/2018 23:28

Nor is Nina and the Neurons.

What was that eye shadow all about?

user1469751309 · 17/01/2018 23:34

Nothing is as bad as Topsy and fucking Tim!

Bbbbbbbb2017 · 17/01/2018 23:43

Aaah I love show me show me.
Story makers was another good one DD1 (now 10) loved.

64BooLane · 17/01/2018 23:54

I remember when Show Me Show Me was brand new, and CBeebies was all fields...

I liked it. Some of the older stuff that was on back then was dire, though. Do they still re-run Big Cook, Little Cook? Now that was jaw-droppingly terrible.

wejammin · 17/01/2018 23:58

I like it until Pui does the Bo Peep thing then I have to leave the room because WTF is she actually doing with her voice?

My kids really liked that odd Scottish programme where the kids went to a jolly childminders and their parents were always late to pick them up for various "exciting" reasons. That was wierd

Nanny0gg · 18/01/2018 00:42

Do they still re-run Big Cook, Little Cook?

No. They have I Can Cook with Katy, who is forced to sing jingles in a too-high key that grates on your nerves. And they have to cut food up with scissors.

Some of the recipes seem quite nice though.

TheWeeMacGregors · 18/01/2018 05:43

Am I being thick? What’s this portrait in the attic business?

TheWeeMacGregors · 18/01/2018 05:45

Me Too. I was new to Mumsnet when that was on dawn slot 5 yrs ago. Nearly started a WTF thread loads of times but was just too tired.

The teacher storylines were the worst.

thegreatbeyond · 18/01/2018 05:54

It's a reference to Oscar Wilde's classic 'The Picture of Dorian Gray'.

DuruttiColumnist · 18/01/2018 06:14

We have a Me Too DVD. They are a bunch of work shy incompetents, apart from Granny Murray.

On a fluttering kite note, I could have sworn she greeted the children by saying, 'Good morning, ma little pricks!'. I might be wrong.

Opaldaisies · 18/01/2018 07:42

My kids loved Me Too and Nina and the Neurons. I think my little DS had a crush on Nina!

pastabest · 18/01/2018 09:17

some of the recipes seem quite nice though

And some are really quite strange

MrTrebus · 18/01/2018 14:29

I have never seen or heard of so many of these! (First DD now 9 months) so I'll have to Google. Me too sounds fucking weird got to check that out first! My husband hates Katy Morag but he doesn't know why! (The programme not the actual little girl!)

OP posts:
MrTrebus · 18/01/2018 14:52

Oh God it's on now and I can't turn it over coz DD is watching it whilst thinking about a nap. Have a nap please so I can change the channel! Wtf is "show me show me a nee nor you"

OP posts:
FaFoutis · 18/01/2018 14:56

Big Cook Little Cook just seemed to disappear and never got shown again. I wondered if it was because one of the presenters had done something awful.

CocoLoco87 · 18/01/2018 14:58

I'm watching show me show me now and cringing. I can't get over the lack of chemistry between Chris and Poy. I don't even mean sexual chemistry, they just have no warmth to each other!

CocoLoco87 · 18/01/2018 14:59

Sorry, Pui*

Helendee · 18/01/2018 15:00

I don't get the "no chemistry" thing. They are really good friends in rl.

MrTrebus · 18/01/2018 15:35

@CocoLoco87 I knowwwwww!!! That's how I feel. Its odd if they are good friends in real life that they come across so wooden on screen.

'Little cook' has been on The Wright Stuff a few times in the past. Can't remember what he's doing now though.

Placeboooooooo · 18/01/2018 16:24

Stick stick stick stick sticky sticky stick stick

Nowombattheinn · 18/01/2018 17:07

Thank you so much to the pp who posted the you tube link of fluttering kite, Ha ha ha! I wish I had seen that when I was in the fog of having two pre schoolers- it would have made my day!
‘Me too’ reminds me of being up at 5am- sitting there desperately waiting for cebeebies to wake up on the tv, I was greatful for granny Murray back then.
I did love stuffy’s song on show me show me- it was probably stuck in my head on a loop for a good year though Confused
