Wtf is this programme? It's so awkward and ridiculous even my baby looks confused. I googled the presenters and they seem to be children's tv royalty yet they are so cringey together! There's no real AIBU except AIBU to physically cringe each time it comes on?!

Just to say that Sid from Let's Play is amazing.

Went to see his live show with the DGC and he was so patient and kind with them all afterwards.

However, Hey Duggee is one of the best children's programmes ever.

It's up there with Dangermouse (the original)

TheWeeMacGregors · 16/01/2018 21:16

Agree on Hey Duggee. Generally think output is brilliant- just wish they would ditch the horrid animations like Kate and Mim Mim

TheWeeMacGregors · 16/01/2018 21:17

Anybody else love Tee and Mo? I ADORE the night time one, so calm, wish they’d play it every night. Personally love a bit of Show Me Show Me although miss the old Teddington song which was much better.

greendale17 · 16/01/2018 21:19

It is better than the rubbish on Nickelodeon

Jimbobjovi · 16/01/2018 21:22

Ageism? The point is that Chris hasn't aged since I was watching CBBC myself!

YolandiFuckinVisser · 16/01/2018 21:35

Is Balamory still on? I used to enjoy the PC Plum song.

DeadButDelicious · 16/01/2018 21:37

I never thought it would happen to me but I think I am a little bit in love (platonic love mind) with Justin Fletcher/Mr Tumble. I actually described something special as a 'nice little program' the other day. I am unnecessarily excited about the new series. It's the way DD's face lights up when he comes on the screen anyone who can make a child that happy is alright by me.

I don't mind Show me Show me, I cannot stand Bing. Or bleeding Topsy and Tim. And baby Jake is just weird. We love Duggee and Sarah and Duck (quack).

I may also have a tiny crush on Robert the Robot...

jaggythistle · 16/01/2018 21:52

Yabu

It reminds me of playschool when i was a kid...

All that looking through the round window.

Big and little Ted and all the other dudes. Grin

MrTrebus · 16/01/2018 21:54

@DeadbutDelicious I know what is it about him?! I'm also excited for the new series and literally since about 1 month old my DD has lit up when he comes on the telly. So weird! How does he do it?!

Whatever it is, he's got it in spades. She just loves him.

He turned our Christmas lights on a couple of months ago, I would of loved to have taken her but it was past her bedtime, she's like a gremlin, if she's not in bed by 7:15pm at the latest she turns into a little demon.

MrsHathaway · 16/01/2018 22:39

Agree the overdubbed cartoons are utter shit.

Tee and Mo are legends. "We're not tidying up: we're just doing a little picking up" has passed into Hathaway common parlance.

Frankly I'll watch anything with a little self awareness. Hey Duggee obviously (STICKY STICKY STICK STICK) and Sarah and Duck and even Boj.

But you can fuck Postman Pat up the arse with his twatting helicopter.

SparklyLights · 17/01/2018 00:07

One of my DCs couldn't stand it, one tolerated it briefly and one loved it. Meh. It is a bit confusing to follow, a bit jumbled but it's wholesome enough and better than back-to-back animations so I think it's OK. Educational, even.

TheWeeMacGregors · 17/01/2018 06:06

When I first saw it I thought rip off playschool and was quite put out. But then came around to being pleased the playschool imaginative play format is still used. Kids need that, and I’m not very good at it, so happy to let Chris and Pui take the strain.

The only things my 2 year old will watch are Something Special, teletubbies and in the night garden. Until Christmas when he developed an obsession with Bing. I actually like Bing as it makes a change to the 76 episodes of Mr Tumble I have recorded on Sky and it is obvious which episode is which. Unlike Mr Tumble where DS will ask for a random Tumble sketch featuring a random member of the Tumble family and I have to remember which of the effing episodes it is as the title and sometimes the blurb don't have anything to do with said random Tumble sketch at all. I then get a very annoyed "NOT THAT ONE!"

If there are new Something Special episodes I will be delighted as I have seen them all a hundred times!!

Back to the original question....never really been into Show Me, Show me, it is very odd and yes, Chris definitely has a portrait in the attic!!

BakedBeeeen · 17/01/2018 13:55

Yes, show me show me is awkward and cringe! I was trying to work out why the other day. There are lots of awkward pauses, and chris and pui do seem like they hate each other. They never make eye contact with each other! Weird.

Jaggythistle · 17/01/2018 18:07

@Choccyhobnob just saw an ad on cbeebies for new Something Special."We're all friends" Grin

TeaAddict235 · 17/01/2018 18:34

I think that the show is actually really well thought out and the presenters are fun. True Pui can't sing, but it's not aimed at adults and X factor it ain't!
Chris sometimes looks a bit manic but I suppose anyone would after a while. He's probably thinking about a cold beer and watching wildlife rather than waving stuffy about.

My DC both like it, and I feel no guilt letting them watch it. But the go shitters? Naff off! Paw crap patrol? Hypnosis at its best! Naff right off double quick!

Taranta · 17/01/2018 19:34

I live in fear that they will bring back 'Me Too!' in the dawn slot and I will have no escape given mine are both early risers. Now that was fucking weird IMHO.

HulaMelody · 17/01/2018 19:48

@Taranta Me Too was so bad it was hilarious! I miss it sometimes as the tone deaf singing and paper thin storylines made me laugh out loud.

I always think Chris Jarvis would be a total diva and all “I went to RADA, darling!” if anyone crossed him. And I bet he wears shit loads of make up.

High 5 to the PP who said they look like they’re on a team building weekend and have two hours to make a kids programme.

MyGastIsFlabbered · 17/01/2018 20:03

Same smile.....now that's one that irritated the fuck out of me. Is it still on?

thegreatbeyond · 17/01/2018 20:06

Chris Jarvis is really lovely IRL!

Me too! Was terrifying, and 'Granny Murray' appeared to be about 28...

WindyWednesday · 17/01/2018 20:16

Chris is lovely, he is very unassuming.

LittleMyLikesSnuffkin · 17/01/2018 20:17

I miss show me show me and octonauts and mr tumble Sad my children are now too old for CBeebies but god it was a lifesaver at 6am when either one of them was wide awake!

Worse thing on CBeebies and possibly kids tv in general has got to be me too! Not even my toddlers could stomach at bloody woman!

shhhfastasleep · 17/01/2018 21:31

Come away in, honey pie.
