When was the last time you were genuinely excited?

I was watching the recent Big Bang Theory episode where Sheldon surprises Amy on her birthday and she is so delighted and excited.

I think the last time I felt that level of excitement was as a student, late last century, about to go on a trip to Dublin. I was jumping up and down with glee. Maybe it was just youthful exuberance but I would love to feel that way again.

When was the last time you felt like that? And how can I rekindle that?

All the time. I'm easily excitable.

GetYourRocksOff · 15/01/2018 12:21

I get excited quite a lot.

Christmas eve, evening though I know what all the presents are and put them out and don't really have any presents for me to open. I still can't sleep on Christmas eve for excitement!

Oysterbabe · 15/01/2018 12:21

The other day when DH took the toddler out for a few hours, the baby was asleep and I had a really nice cup of coffee and some cake.

Juanbablo · 15/01/2018 12:21

Right now! We are going on a big holiday in a few months which is taking a lot of planning and preparation and I'm so excited!

HateSummer · 15/01/2018 12:22

DarthNigel · 15/01/2018 12:25

My dp bought me some horse riding lessons for Christmas. I am so excited. I used to ride all the time until I left home and it's the thing I miss most in the world (as I just can't afford it).Now I have 6 hits worth to look forward to!
I'm so excited that I don't want to even call and book the first one because then I've still got 6 to look forward to Grin

DarthNigel · 15/01/2018 12:25

*6 hours

pandarific · 15/01/2018 12:29

Yesterday, when I got a nice comment on a story I had written. I didn’t jump up and down, but it gave me that jolt of excitement and happiness.

JuniLoolaPalooza · 15/01/2018 12:30

DP and I are travelling to London soon to take DD age 3 to the Discover Story Centre in Stratford. We're staying in a Premier Inn so I'm excited about the breakfast and the day out. I'm gonna love it even if DD isn't fussed. Hurrah!

Notreallyarsed · 15/01/2018 12:30

When we moved house last month.

LadyOfTheCanyon · 15/01/2018 12:31

Oh this morning - booked a holiday!!

NewYearNiki · 15/01/2018 12:31

New Years a couple of weeks ago.

Did hogmanay in Edinburgh. Jump up and down excitement.

Greensleeves · 15/01/2018 12:32

I'm excited now, despite being really ill and having a back injury...because I have 8 week old kittens who arrived on Saturday! They are the most adorable, comical, sweet little darlings

TheFrenchLieutenantsMonkey · 15/01/2018 12:34

When I was about 12 I think. I just don't get that 'fizz' anymore. I look forward to things and I'm happy but I just don't get excited.
It saddens me.

Justabadwife · 15/01/2018 12:37

Last Monday when i went to book our holiday for June. 😁😁😁 infact I'm still so excited about it. 🍦🍹🌍🏖✈🌞

TossDaily · 15/01/2018 12:37

When I went to Harry Potter World in Florida.

I'm not even that big of a fan, but I turned into a big kid.

I was beside myself both times I saw Prince live, too.

sinceyouask · 15/01/2018 12:47

I was very excited to go and see TFA in December :)

nickEcave · 15/01/2018 12:50

Last October when the letter arrived confirming DD1 had won a scholarship place to our first choice of secondary school. We live in an area of London where there is a huge amount of competition for school places. I screamed the place down and was on a complete high for several weeks.

nickEcave · 15/01/2018 12:52

Oh and when I saw Nick Cave at the O2 last autumn - as the username suggests, I am a fan Grin

Smidge001 · 15/01/2018 12:54

This weekend - When my DH said he'd shave off his beard Grin

AnarchyKitty · 15/01/2018 12:58

Last September. I literally jumped for joy as I finally got my dream job. I giggled and hugged myself for the whole week!
I still fizz everyday when I go to work 😁

Foxyloxy1plus1 · 15/01/2018 12:58

A couple of weeks ago when I saw Nutcracker at the Royal Albert Hall. It had been booked since the spring and it was utterly wonderful.

ShutUpBaz · 15/01/2018 12:59

This morning when I realised I'm off work for a weeks annual leave. Simple things!
