Female, black and lesbian would restore my faith in the world. Trump's supporters would hate that and she seems far more suited than him. She would walk it right?

OP posts:
FixItUpChappie · 09/01/2018 00:17

Just about anyone sounds amazing next to Trump....but America should be looking away from the celeb pool for the most important job in their country IMO.

anothernetter · 09/01/2018 00:18

Michelle Obama all the way

Kursk · 09/01/2018 00:20

As someone who lives in the US, NO NO NO NO!! I want someone who actually knows what they're doing next time. No more of this celebrity POTUS bullshit. We're not living in a reality tv show. Or at least, we shouldn't be.

This this this! I will vote Johnson again next time, or whatever Libertarian is running.

Cavender · 09/01/2018 00:22

You rather lose your liberal credentials assuming that an unmarried woman without children must be gay OP...Hmm

If Ms Winfrey is serious about the presidency she should run for Senate first and get some experience.

Praisebe · 09/01/2018 00:22

I'd vote Joe Biden as Potus if i we're American he's lovely and very smart more than qualified for the job Grin

The problem I have with Michelle Obama is this... she's a First Lady. Just like Hilary Clinton. Are we all really so lacking in imagination that we can't imagine a female President that isn't the wife of someone? It's insulting to women. Men don't get suggested based on who they are bloody married to.

There are great numbers of talented, incredibly knowledgeable women who aren't celebrities and aren't married to former presidents.

ginghambox · 09/01/2018 00:27

Correct, The problem is she is Mrs Obama.

EnthusiasmIsDisturbed · 09/01/2018 00:32

Do you mean the shop where the assistant assumed she couldn’t afford the most expensive bag

I think she is intelligent enough to recognise racism

Or would it have only been racist if the shop assistant had used racist language

I am able to tell when men are being sexist when they are not using sexist language why becuase I have dealt with it for years

Kursk · 09/01/2018 00:38

Oprah is racist against white people. She treats her white Staff disgustingly and openly hates on white people. Anyone remember the shop in Europe saga? She thrives on drama.

So similar to Trump then!

Gingernaut · 09/01/2018 00:40

She's fought her way from sex abuse and poverty to become a successful business woman who has made billions and donated millions to charity.

She's popular, both internationally and at home, knows how to appeal to an audience, takes no shit and is quick to admit her faults.

Trump has only known privilege, inherited his billions, has mismanaged his father's fortune, been bankrupted and run businesses into the ground, is currently milking state funds by charging the state extortionate fees for him, his family and their entourage to stay at one of his businesses' Mar-a-Lago resort, he has a tin ear for diplomacy and is a laughing stock internationally.

You have to admit, on paper, Oprah would have been a better candidate back in 2016.....

Carouselfish · 09/01/2018 00:43

Somebody who knew how to be a real person would be good, who wasn't just an 'image'. Someone who knew that there was life outside America and who wasn't religious in any way too.
Please see any Oprah episode about women around the world where she travels to (ohmygoshthey'reallsocialists) Europe and exposes how shockingly dumb, prejudiced and insular American she actually is.
'But how are your houses so small? Where do you put all your stuff?!', 'But how do you live without God?!', 'But aren't you afraid they'll be stolen?' were some of the choice quotes I remember when she visited some Danish women who weren't religious, had normal sized houses and put their babies in their gardens for naptime.

Julie8008 · 09/01/2018 00:47

The answer to one fcukwit TV star is not another TV star. We have no idea if she is any more mentally stable, as she is an actress.

The USA needs an intelligent human being with experience running their country.

Carouselfish · 09/01/2018 00:48

*I don't convey her patronising tone well enough here. But those episodes really made me dislike her. Not just for her bafflement at the world outside Murica but for her real rudeness towards people who didn't think exactly the same as she did.

Greensleeves · 09/01/2018 00:50

Yeah, I agree with the first reply. I'll be really pleased if the next president isn't some tacky tv personality

digitalDividend · 09/01/2018 00:55

No. I haven't seen her do anything to make me think that she should be president.

Because she has a vagina? She's black?

SuperBeagle · 09/01/2018 00:56

Nope, because she would quickly become one of the most hated people in the world, as presidents/politicians always do.

I'd prefer to continue liking her.

TheClaws · 09/01/2018 00:59

I think the US (and the world at large) deserves a leader who is interested in leading, not ratings of any kind, and one that understands the delicate dance of the political arena at all levels. That rules out Oprah and any TV or film star who may want to have a stab, no matter how passionate they may be about the cause.

SenecaFalls · 09/01/2018 01:02

Far too 'extreme feminist'

Enough reason for me to vote for her.

Tringley · 09/01/2018 01:02

She might be a successful business woman but she's a total fucking looper when it comes to medical science. I also don't doubt that she's probably a nice person but she has been a particular type of celebrity for so long that her reality is so far removed from that of other people's that she could never do that job properly.

Barring a change in the entire American political system, which is unlikely to happen soon, what America needs is someone like Elizabeth Warren. Intelligent, insightful, not completely out of touch with ordinary people, capable of foreign relations, etc.

nocoolnamesleft · 09/01/2018 01:08

Let's be fair. Barney Rubble would be an improvement as president, the bar is so low.

JaneJeffer · 09/01/2018 01:10

And she could make it law that they have to read the shite books she recommends.

Anyhope · 09/01/2018 01:14

Anyone apart from Trump to stop sexist, racist, misogynistic, bigots the world over. Def a woman and Michelle or Oprah great, if Spanish speaker even better. Also have a female leader here but she has no kids and supported by elitist, wealthy men. What do peeps think?

Want2bSupermum · 09/01/2018 01:23

I'm a fan of Corey Booker. Yes he is gay and hasn't come out but he is an excellent politician and that is what we need. Elizabeth warren is good too but I think she has too much baggage at this point and isn't seen as central enough.

Fatso1978 · 09/01/2018 01:27

She only helps fund stuff for black people. She doesn't give a shit about anyone else. Anyone who cares about the suffering of others with a good heart helps all mankind and does it without boasting all about it and go on and on for decades about their own shitty upbringing. Get over it already. People like Keanu Reeves are for example good hearted, who have had a tragic life, but don't need talk incessantly about, instead work quietly behind the scenes to help those less fortunate.

She thinks she is more important than she really is.

She is your "living in a tiny box attitude" extremely materialistic that is a typical American. Isn't she the one who gives away shitloads of expensive stuff to her audiences? Yeah, she buys her support by given free stuff to greedy Americans Grin.

I don't care for Trump either. And am actually quite fucking glad I don't live in America. The country which is on par with shitty human rights like some despot African country....... as it has little regard for human life as well. You die if you can't afford healthcare. No great country in the world would allow this.
