Not a TAAT as such - more about moderation in general.

Is it just me or are MN much quicker to delete threads these days?

There have been a few examples recently where the thread had taken an odd turn - but which could have been solved by deletions or posdibly even a stern but the whole thread has been pulled, despite the thread containing useful advice.

Is this a new policy? Or are there a couple of new mods who are more likely to pull threads?

AIBU to think this is happening and it's a shame if so?

It's only happened to me twice. Once when referencing another deleted post (got it!)

The other time someone called me a whore. I asked if they were always so simplistic and got deleted. The whore comment didn't

One of the Radford threads was pulled recently because it was allegedly identifying for the OP. But, so far as I remember, she was just giving a general opinion about a recent programme. I couldn't for the life of me see what was identifying.

Reddit mods are not not mods in the mnet sense, they are also active in the sub. So anyone hoping for it all to come out in the wash will be disappointed.

Perhaps you'd care to explain why you posted this. You were insinuating that woman who need raping and sluts was being discussed. Whose vile now? No it's definitely not. I just had a look there and there's threads about a woman "who needs raping" and "sluts". Vile altogether

Assuming what mnhq look at are ip addresses, not seeing a connection between two accounts only means that they don't share an ip.

It's perfectly possible for someone to post from different ip addresses and I'm speaking as someone who's a mod of a different website and used to deal with a persistent troll who always had a different ip.

I believe we had a troll on the sub over night, it was picked up very quickly due to an active community over there.
