Not a TAAT as such - more about moderation in general.

Is it just me or are MN much quicker to delete threads these days?

There have been a few examples recently where the thread had taken an odd turn - but which could have been solved by deletions or posdibly even a stern but the whole thread has been pulled, despite the thread containing useful advice.

Is this a new policy? Or are there a couple of new mods who are more likely to pull threads?

AIBU to think this is happening and it's a shame if so?

That's the one! Still no explanation as to why it was 'nonsense'? I'd think MNHQ could be a little more sensitive about their comments left (seemingly) arbitrarily, especially when they seem to have no basis for that opinion.

I'm not post-natal (now!) or depressed but many people posting on here suffer from anxiety, low-self esteem and other MH issues and that sort of summary judgement on the problems they encounter in their lives don't help.

True.
And FWIW it wasn't a nonsense post at all Quizzly.

QuizzlyBear, I remember that thread and I can't imagine how it would be considered a troll thread or a 'nonsense one' either. It wasn't even goady, it was a real life situation that you needed some support on. I was going to post (in support of you) but it was deleted before I could. In my opinion, anything to so with kids clothes, bodies, or touching seems to ring 'alarm bells' because there have been so many pervy threads. Yours wasn't in the slightest but it probably just was deleted before being read properly.

I'm glad to read you're not fragile and I know you can take it on chin now but I bet it smarted at the time - and it was completely unfair.

I don't think I've ever seen a "We're looking at this so taking it down for now" thread, ever reappear? I really hope that MNHQ are still reading.

Thanks @LyingWitchInTheWardrobe - I did wonder for some time what I'd written that could have been construed as 'nonsense', so I'm glad it puzzled other people too!

MNHQ, if you are still reading, I'd love an explanation? I've never been on that end of a 'pulled' thread before and I was really surprised that it was done summarily without any clarification or liaison with the OP. I guess you live and learn! Thanks for the support though guys 💐
