Is it just me or are MN much quicker to delete threads these days?

There have been a few examples recently where the thread had taken an odd turn - but which could have been solved by deletions or posdibly even a stern but the whole thread has been pulled, despite the thread containing useful advice.

Is this a new policy? Or are there a couple of new mods who are more likely to pull threads?

AIBU to think this is happening and it's a shame if so?

After reading this full thread again it's clear for anyone to see the goading that's gone on as well as deliberately twisting of facts by Mum. Fair enough twisting the facts isn't a banning offence but sure;y the goading is?
