Not a TAAT as such - more about moderation in general.

Is it just me or are MN much quicker to delete threads these days?

There have been a few examples recently where the thread had taken an odd turn - but which could have been solved by deletions or posdibly even a stern but the whole thread has been pulled, despite the thread containing useful advice.

Is this a new policy? Or are there a couple of new mods who are more likely to pull threads?

AIBU to think this is happening and it's a shame if so?

This has descended into an ugly thread but it's pretty clear that Mumof56 is deliberately missing the point in order to provoke a reaction (ie. goad). We all know Reddit was trolled last night. I can see all this from the sidelines.

I browse reddit MN trolls, although am not a member there. I saw the horrible posts there last night. On one of them, the troll stated that he had come fro 4chan, which may or may not be true.

At around the same time, at least one very similarly-titled thread was started in AIBU but Nightwatch got to it quickly

Looks to me as if a regular MN troll has discovered the reddit thread and then concentrated their efforts there as there was no overnight moderation.

Have the rules changed again? Because if I remember rightly a little while back, it was stated that MNetters could be banned for goading.

For anyone wanting to know what was posted on the subreddit - its all there, no screenshots needed. The deletion policy on most of reddit tends to be doxxing only - trolling posts with photographs on non consenting women are doxxing and so fall under that rule. Everything else stands.

Reddit was trolled last night. Mumof56 wants everyone to think that the troll's deleted posts were normal discussions of that forum's regular people

Agreed. I do not understand why the merest hint of troll hunting seems to be bannable whilst goading is left to stand. The difference between regular goading and trolling are non existent in practice.
