Is it just me or are MN much quicker to delete threads these days?

There have been a few examples recently where the thread had taken an odd turn - but which could have been solved by deletions or posdibly even a stern but the whole thread has been pulled, despite the thread containing useful advice.

Is this a new policy? Or are there a couple of new mods who are more likely to pull threads?

AIBU to think this is happening and it's a shame if so?

@MNHQ. I'm curious if the rules for troll hunting have changed. I've previously had a weeks suspension for troll hunting (twice 😝) but I keep seeing posters getting more than one deletion for troll hunting and then still being free to post ? It seems a bit random.

Also, when a poster is deleted for a particularly nasty or goady comment are they ever suspended? I've seen posters make extremely nasty posts, have the posts deleted, but then be free to carry on posting.

It all seems very inconsistent but perhaps it just that we aren't aware what the rules actually are.

BTW even though I fell foul of troll hunting rules I don't disagree with them. I'm not salty about being deleted, it's more that I'm a bit bemused why some really nasty posters who continually have their posts deleted aren't banned or suspended.
