So embarrassed

Firsttimemum777 · 02/01/2018 09:30

Was at the in laws family do. About 8 people there and grandad was taking a picture of our 8 month old. I accidentally let out a big fart. My OH looked at me in shock then looked at the dog to try and put the blame on him. As did I. I think everyone in the room was pretty sure it was me though.

I’m mortified. We had to leave early to get DS to bed. Now I’m worried they were all laughing about me when we left.

Well I'm laughing at your post, Firsttimemum, it's funny, we all do it. Your embarrassment will pass. Grin

Ignore the nasty comment from Trashboat - and it was nasty.

Some posters are just like that, can't just tut to themselves and backspace out of a thread they have to have a dig. I put it down to the fact that the spiteful threads that they were venting their spleens on have been deleted and thwarted their muck-spreading.

Love the fact your DH looked at the dog everyone does that don't they as if you can transfer the blame if you stare long enough? It will be forgotten now but if its loud there is that moment of oh fuck!

My niece about 15 at the time had a crush on her older brothers mate about 19 he was and he poked her in the ribs and she let out a massive fart, he was stood right behind her. No one has ever forgotten that one.

Lalliella · 02/01/2018 10:30

Hilarious OP. Don’t worry about it, just watch a few episodes of Miranda and laugh it off. Everyone does it, it’s nothing to be ashamed of. Lovely that your OH tried to cover your embarrassment by blaming the dog, he’s a keeper for sure.

Trashboat · 02/01/2018 10:31

Jeez Louise. I do find it a bit pathetic to be so mortified over a fart.

I don't think I was being a 'nasty twat'.

It is something I would say to someone in real life. As in, stop being so ridiculous.

LyingWitchInTheWardrobe2726 · 02/01/2018 10:32

Why say it though? OP is embarrassed. Why give her another kick?

It was a nasty comment. You don't think so, that's your opinion.

Trashboat · 02/01/2018 10:33

I think the response to my post are far nastier than me telling the OP she was being a bit pathetic to be so mortified over a normal bodily function 🙄

RupertsMum2 · 02/01/2018 10:33

We always blame the dogs although ours don't make a noise when they fart. They are "silent but deadly".

OP please don't worry. You are the only one that will be thinking about this.

Trashboat · 02/01/2018 10:33

Another 'kick' ffs Grin

LyingWitchInTheWardrobe2726 · 02/01/2018 10:35

Good, I'm glad you think so. Report them then. Hmm

GreatDuckCookery6211 · 02/01/2018 10:35

Give over Trash. There was no need for your post. You could have read and thought the OP was being dramatic or whatever without actually telling her.

christmastreewithhairyfairy · 02/01/2018 10:36

OP we all do it so don't worry! I'm sure everyone has an embarrassing fart story.

And though it's not a big deal it is embarrassing when it happens, so you're not being pathetic at all Hmm

BattleCuntGalactica · 02/01/2018 10:37

Everyone farts. Best thing to do is rate it out of five and act normal. You don't want to fart a five without sitting on the loo though.

Coconutspongexo · 02/01/2018 10:37

Trash you was nasty!

It’s not uncommon on here but there was no need

WorkingMumOnTheGo · 02/01/2018 10:37

Blame the dog because

WorkingMumOnTheGo · 02/01/2018 10:38

Sorry I press post too soon! I was going to say, blame the dog because that is what we usually do if there is one lol! But seriously, letting out wind is a natural human bodily function! They will get over it.

MotherCupboard · 02/01/2018 10:39

Never mind the pet, isn't that what husbands are for? Grin

moita · 02/01/2018 10:41

Give it a few months and you can blame the baby Grin

Trashboat · 02/01/2018 10:43

Good, I'm glad you think so. Report them then

Why would I???? I wouldn't report anyone on AIBU, for calling me a twat. Now that WOULD be pathetic.

WhatATimeToBeAlive · 02/01/2018 10:44

My OH still blames the dog, and we lost her 18 months ago and anyway, she never farted so I knew it wasn't her. She burped like nobody's business though!

DottyS · 02/01/2018 10:46

@Trash please do not act the bully and then complain when someone calls you up on it

OP don't worry about it. It has happened to the best of us (and believe I have the gassiest intestines known to man Smile. This is not worth another thought or worry and even if they did laugh - not the end of the world.

Firsttimemum777 · 02/01/2018 10:47

Yes trash, it’s a normal bodily function to fart. But is it acceptable to fart loudly in front of others? No.

Unless it’s your OH of course 😄

OP posts:
cakedup · 02/01/2018 10:56

My bil farted in front of my mum on his first meeting with her. She felt really bad for him and tried to put him at ease with story after story of inappropriate farting incidents so we all had a good giggle. It's fine. Better a fart than you saying something rude or offensive.

fantasmasgoria1 · 02/01/2018 11:03

I would not even give it a second thought. Even if they did discuss it afterwards it would not have been for longer how Long can you discuss a fart?

RoseWhiteTips · 02/01/2018 11:14

But in front of other people?
