Thoughts on Jamie Oliver’s house?!

Now you can see Jamie's REAL kitchen! Jools Oliver sends fans into a frenzy with snaps of their VERY palatial £8.9M Grade II listed London home (including a £2K super king bed and a wood-fired oven)

I think it is gorgeous. The Daily Mail readership is divided, some believing that Jamie/Jools lack class, one even quoting the “You can take the boy out of Essex...” saying. I find the reaction baffling. It’s as if they do not appreciate style and good taste when they see it.
Or perhaps they are filled with envy? Who knows.

Are those two school girls his daughters?! Wow, they've grown! I think of him as having small children (not that really think about him at all).

I think his house looks lovely.

SaturndayNight · 18/12/2017 17:36

I hope those boots his daughter is wearing on the bed are slippers and not outdoor shoes.

crackerjacket · 18/12/2017 17:36

Very instagram worthy.

AnaWinter · 18/12/2017 17:36

I love their bed and the bathroom.

DingDongDenny · 18/12/2017 17:36

It's too cluttered and kitsch for me. Like I'd be itching to find a place for all the random stuff left on the table.

Also a bit girly and flowery

crackerjacket · 18/12/2017 17:36

I thought the same saturndaynight

loveka · 18/12/2017 17:37

It is beautiful. I love the bathroom and the kitchen is a dream!

BarbaraOcumbungles · 18/12/2017 17:38

I think it’s lovely! Tbh I really like JO, I know that’s not a fashionable sentiment in here but I think he’s fab.

This exactly.

I dont like it at all!

Taffeta · 18/12/2017 17:41

Love the bed
Love the floral wallpaper
Love the architecture of the house
Like the veg patch but the rest of the garden looks a bit pants

derxa · 18/12/2017 17:42

It's nice but lacks a bit of cosiness. I'm surprised they plastered this all over the media

GreatDuckCookery6211 · 18/12/2017 17:44

It’s lovely.

RoseWhiteTips · 18/12/2017 17:44

Viviennemary

I did see it earlier. And thought it was a bit flash if I wanted to be super critical. But it was quite nice really.

Flash? Really? I think of glitzy, gilt-filled Hollywood houses as flashy, but not this one.

My only feeling in this is that it’s their house they can have it however they like.

Looks fine to me.

diddl · 18/12/2017 17:45

"It’s as if they do not appreciate style and good taste when they see it."

I wouldn't describe it as either stylish or tasteful.

It's just a family home decorated as they want it.

NotAgainYoda · 18/12/2017 17:45

The Mail can stuff itself up its own arse

SchadenfreudePersonified · 18/12/2017 17:46

I hope that baby is in one of those little bath seats!

I think it's an amazing home - like a PP I think there's too much in it, but then, I bet Jules never has to lift a duster to the 12 million artefacts about the walls and shelves, so she won't give a monkey's. Grin

RoseWhiteTips · 18/12/2017 17:46

I like the unspoilt look of the garden, too.
(Pants indeed!!)

I love it

QueenArseClangers · 18/12/2017 17:47

It’s nice to see books in a celebrity’s home!
Looks lovely to me and, to be honest, I doubt the Olivers give a flying fuck what we think.

ihatethecold · 18/12/2017 17:48

Gorgeous house. Lucky people.

Plantlover · 18/12/2017 17:48

I can't see any pictures of the older girls? Have they been taken down?

Wheelywheel · 18/12/2017 17:49

I love it. Tbh I'm a bit in love with Jools. I wouldn't mind if she wanted to be my mum too.

Pumperthepumper · 18/12/2017 17:49

I absolutely love it. I bet it’s not really their house though, it’ll be a set for Jools’s new mothercare Home range or something.
