So here's a bit of back story, partner and I have just moved into a new house, expecting a baby in March, money is tight and I have been suffering with depression.

I only told him last week that I felt "depressed" and went to docs etc. He told me he'd be supportive blah blah blah.

So tonight, I get in from work to be greeted by him in his best clothes telling me he's going out for Chinese with the boys and he might be (and I quote) "a bit late"

So anyway, for someone being really supportive about the way I've been feeling lately, he's not text me all night. (He knows I'm home alone) I fell asleep there from about 10pm-1.30am woke up and was surprised not to find him at home (doesn't usually stay out past 12/12.30 During the week) well my concern now is.... It's after 4am, all the pubs closed at 2am, his phone is off. Am I right to think he's an absolute selfish bastard? I'm working at 7am.... Sitting at home worrying myself sick?

Really glad you've got some answers OP.

Just to add and this isn't necesserrily a good or bad thing: when you have your baby you may start to care less about his safety. My dh used to pull this shit all the time before and after we started a family. I used to tear my hair out worrying before but once I'd had a baby my focus shifted onto her and I didn't have that excruciating anxiety feeling of wondering if he was ok. It was a relief but also quite sad to realise it.

Killer she says in other posts she actively encourages him as he doesn't go out all that often.

I get the feeling she was annoyed he decided to go out so soon after her opening up about her feeling so shit then made far worse by not bothering to come home.

I find some people men do this, when you tell them you need more from them emotionally they distance themselves. It's like they don't know how to help so just avoid the situation.

Punkatheart · 07/12/2017 11:41

Wise point, Mustang.

JaneEyre70 · 07/12/2017 11:43

Look after yourself today and get some rest. You must be exhausted.

Originalfoogirl · 07/12/2017 11:48

Glad he is ok.

I’m just astounded there are any small towns left with an operation police station.

DiscotequeJuliet · 07/12/2017 11:55

I find the disbelieving/troll hunting based on minutae absolutely pathetic. No, my mum wouldn't contact me or rush over in this situation, but that doesn't mean it's out of the realms of normal for some people. I can think of several friends and relations who have the kind of relationship where their mum would be straight over like this.

I've read some lovely comments today, and thank you ladies Flowers

To all the negative people.... Why waste your time? Just move on.

I've just jumped into bed now, delighted to be getting some sleep. He is currently stuck with his head down the toilet feeling sorry for himself!

Glad he turned up OP. My mum would come round to me too, as I would for my daughter (she’s 3 months old..but in like 20 years or something).

LagunaBubbles · 07/12/2017 12:35

Its horrible not being able to sleep because you dont know where someone is. Has he been able to tell you what he was in the Police cells for?

Shadow666 · 07/12/2017 12:41

Wow, a night in the cells! I didnt see that coming. Glad he's safe and definitely not shagging someone else.

shiftyfades · 07/12/2017 13:28

I'm glad he's ok and you have him home. Really glad it was a valid reason too. Get some rest and look after yourself Thanks
