So here's a bit of back story, partner and I have just moved into a new house, expecting a baby in March, money is tight and I have been suffering with depression.

I only told him last week that I felt "depressed" and went to docs etc. He told me he'd be supportive blah blah blah.

So tonight, I get in from work to be greeted by him in his best clothes telling me he's going out for Chinese with the boys and he might be (and I quote) "a bit late"

So anyway, for someone being really supportive about the way I've been feeling lately, he's not text me all night. (He knows I'm home alone) I fell asleep there from about 10pm-1.30am woke up and was surprised not to find him at home (doesn't usually stay out past 12/12.30 During the week) well my concern now is.... It's after 4am, all the pubs closed at 2am, his phone is off. Am I right to think he's an absolute selfish bastard? I'm working at 7am.... Sitting at home worrying myself sick?

doowapwap · 07/12/2017 08:41

Hope you're ok op and that he's home Now

nakedscientist · 07/12/2017 08:42

Hoping he's back and you're ok, OP

sailorcherries · 07/12/2017 08:44

I hope everything has turned out okay OP.

It takes nothing to send a quick text. Even if you had been asleep it would be there when you got up to alleviate any concerns.
Most adults make sure they have a charged phone and change when they go out, just in case.

He's been thoughtless, at best, and a complete twat at worst.

Whywonttheyletmeusemyusername · 07/12/2017 08:44

Hope he's back and ashamed of himself

RadioGaGoo · 07/12/2017 08:44

You have such a cool relationship Slarti.

chiaseeddisapointmentagain · 07/12/2017 08:45

Hope you're ok

chiaseeddisapointmentagain · 07/12/2017 08:45

No one cares @Slarti this thread isn't about you

deepestdarkestperu · 07/12/2017 08:47

So many of these threads, it beggars belief really. It's never the first time they've done it and 99% of the time, they apologise and OP forgives them, then it happens again (and again, and again) until OP either accepts it as normal or ends the relationship.

Nothing wrong with going out and enjoying yourself but if you're not coming home or are going to five hours later than planned, it's the decent thing to do to let your partner know, especially if they're pregnant and bound to be more worried than usual. It takes seconds to send a text to say you're okay/safe.

GlitteryFluff · 07/12/2017 08:48

Hope you've heard from him by now.

Vq1970 · 07/12/2017 08:49

I think Slarti probably knows the thread isn't about him but he's voicing his experience, just like lots of other people are doing. It gives a different perspective on things so the OP doesn't automatically jump to the conclusion that her partner is up to no good, like some posters are suggesting. Sometimes these things are innocent, annoying and frustrating and inconsiderate but innocent nevertheless.

Vq1970 · 07/12/2017 08:49

I hope he's home by now OP and you've sorted things out with him x

MrsMozart · 07/12/2017 08:50

A shit thing for him to do.

These days of mobiles it's so easy to send a text. Know those who might worry are ok and you can continue your evening without stressing anyone.

QOD · 07/12/2017 08:50

Hope he’s home!

missladybird · 07/12/2017 08:55

Why are most men such complete fucking twats?

lamettarules · 07/12/2017 08:56

Can't think the silence from the OP is a good sign .

Rebeccaslicker · 07/12/2017 08:57

Hopefully she's asleep.

He probably passed out at a mate's house. What a selfish thing to do.

Also the OP doesn’t have a long history of posting threads or comments.
