to be shocked by these dresses on the red carpet?

Am I getting old or are these dresses completely outrageous? I am staggered that women would wear this style of dress. Men don’t dress with their scrotums on show!

Dear, oh dear. Not shocked, or even surprised. It gets attention. But if anything kills eroticism like these sad, bald, pinched, flappy little apologies for mons Veneris and labia, I've yet to see it. Is there anyone alive, male or female, who could raise a flicker of desire over these displays?

specialsubject · 01/12/2017 13:54

That's rough. Also note the waddle caused by the stupid shoes.

Yuk.

StealthPolarBear · 01/12/2017 13:54

I suspect there will be quite a lot of men who are managing to

Laiste · 01/12/2017 13:58

The top of that pink dress is doing her bust no favors at all.

As for dresses which show half your fanny: I like to imagine the way past this would be to actually have women (and men?) just attend these things buck naked. The peep show would be over. Gawping at naked bodies would be less fun. Personally i think after the first time the sheer amount of flesh on show would turn the titillation on it's head.

Anyone who's been to a nudist beach for more than a couple of hours will know that it only takes a short while before the fascination with other peoples bodies wears off quite quickly when they're blatantly and casually on display. it's really very refreshing and the range of shapes and sizes of the ordinary man and woman is very leveling.

Nakedness is the way to go!
(in summer obvs:) )

liz70 · 01/12/2017 14:01

Oh my, their cervixes must get chilly. Shock

NewtsSuitcase · 01/12/2017 14:02

Surely they're photoshopped?? Surely

WazFlimFlam · 01/12/2017 14:03

I wish I hadn't read that article... side crotch is a thing now?

kateandme · 01/12/2017 14:07

i really want to be none judgy and say everyone should allow themselves to wear what they want.if they tink they look beautiful and feel good then....but...I... am...finding...it really hard not to let my inner critical biotch come out :)

Anatidae · 01/12/2017 14:09

The pink dress looks really badly made; she’s having to hunch to keep her boobs in. A well made strapless frock has sufficient waist stay / boning to mean it stays on regardless of movement (this is why most strapless wedding dresses are poorly made and keep needing to be hitched up constantly, they don’t have a waist stay.)

Anyway, both hideous frocks but I kind of admire them for being daring. You must have some serious self confidence to wear that and yes, my feminist head says wear whatever you want. I’d rather have a world where you can waft down the red carpet in a frock you could swallow without a glass of water than one where M&S has a modesty section (fuck me that makes me angry.)

oldlaundbooth · 01/12/2017 14:09

Hilarious.

Nothing like a growler on show.

Iris65 · 01/12/2017 14:17

Crikey how long did you have to look before you found those pics from over a year ago

I was sent the link by Wordpress as the originator of the post has started to follow me.

I personally would like someone to just turn up on the red carpet naked. Lets just get this over with and then we can go back to wearing clothes to keep warm and comfortable.

I feel the same way about music videos. Can we please stop being 'edgy' by getting ever closer to full on porn and just do it already? Then music videos could go back to having stuff other than 'very nearly sex' in them.

ladystarkers · 01/12/2017 14:21

👀 omg they have their fannies out😵

Iris65 · 01/12/2017 14:23

I don’t have a problem with nudity and I think women should wear what they want, but in the context of the media, fashion and film industry I have a sense that these women are being exploited.

Their appearance also reinforces and normalises the porn aesthetic of a totally shaved foof.

OP posts:
Iris65 · 01/12/2017 14:26

cromwell I agree that it is not in any sense sexy but as I posted earlier, it is normalising the porn aesthetic along with everything else that implies.

Ridiculous looking but doesn't shock me as such.

You can't see their actual flaps (or, I assume, but hole) so not indecent as such.

Morphene · 01/12/2017 14:26

I predict we would see a hairy foof on the red carpet before we see a hairy armpit!

Walnutwhiplash · 01/12/2017 14:27

Bella Hadid and Chrissie Teigan have been pictured in similar outfits
As has Borat

StormTreader · 01/12/2017 14:28

Remember when we were all talking about that film, The New Pope? Thats why they are wearing those dresses, they will have been paid by the film so that the pictures get in the papers and people hear about the film by association.

ICanTuckMyBoobsInMyPockets · 01/12/2017 14:29

Those are awful.

No one needs to see your fanny without warning unless you’re in a sexual relationship with them or you’re about to undergo a medical procedure.

Iris65 · 01/12/2017 14:29

Joan Rivers (yeeears ago, talking about short skirts) said "what's next? Two band-aids and a cork?

Joan Rivers could be very funny.

NewtsSuitcase · 01/12/2017 14:30

I watched the new pope (a series btw not a film) and I don't even remember these people being in it!

Iris65 · 01/12/2017 14:33

morphene Julia Roberts has already done the hairy airmpit.

If a man walked around with one ball hanging out people would call him a weirdo and probably the police, why is one flap any different?

NewtsSuitcase · 01/12/2017 14:33

Think they were actually wardrobe malfunction photos. Supposed to be revealing side slits
