Am I getting old or are these dresses completely outrageous? I am staggered that women would wear this style of dress. Men don’t dress with their scrotums on show!

Takes "if you've got it, flaunt it" to a whole new level!

Frederickvonhefferneffer · 01/12/2017 11:57

What are they thinking! Really ugly dresses. I don’t want to look at labia!

LaurieFairyCake · 01/12/2017 11:57

Oh that's bad

My feminist 'women can wear what they want/why must media always comment on what women wear' totally fails with outfits like that

I do genuinely think oh dear put it away Confused

ghostyslovesheets · 01/12/2017 11:57

well it was over a year ago - so obviously it's not a style that's caught ont - panic over Grin

Finola1step · 01/12/2017 11:57

Really unflattering. But not surprising, unfortunately. For a number of years now, there has been more and more breast on show on the red carpet. Side boob, under boob, all boob. Especially from women in the music industry e.g Rhianna, JLo, Britney, Miley. So when exposing your breasts is no longer headline grabbing, it is bound to happen that some women will then include the groin area.

And I bet ya any money that the men at that event were all suited and booted in their tuxedos...

NootNoot · 01/12/2017 11:58

Isn't that Naya Riveria (the cheerleader from Glee??)

Holy moly- the waxing, the skin prep, the terrible tan lines, the adhesive needed to stick that one waft of fabric in place.

I'm going to a ball tomorrow- there will be no flaps/muff/nips on show I promise...and just to sound like my nan, "IS SHE NOT FROZEN"

AssassinatedBeauty · 01/12/2017 11:58

Separately, I wonder why they both chose not to try and blend in their obvious bikini tan marks - is it part of the whole look? It would have presumably been possible to use fake tan on the white bits.

Plexie · 01/12/2017 11:58

Just seen that the pictures were originally posted in September 2016. So presumably not a trend that became more widespread?

Interesting comment by the blogger:

"This constant disrobing and using the body to communicate or as an earning tool instead of the mind is so sharply allocated to females. I find it kinda weird sometimes."

MovingOnUpMovingOnOut · 01/12/2017 11:58

I’ve just realised you said old not prudish.

Do you think they then sat in the premier with their plucked like a chicken fannies out and watched the film?

How depressing.

RatRolyPoly · 01/12/2017 11:59

I think it's a bit derogatory to say women only dress l like this as they vie for attention in a male dominated society. Granted that is often the case, but let's not forget it can also be a whole lotta fun Grin

MrsJayy · 01/12/2017 12:00

I enlarged the pucture jeezus wept it is an eyeful but no it isn't her from glee.

MovingOnUpMovingOnOut · 01/12/2017 12:00

Is it fun getting one’s chuff out for the paps?

RhiannonOHara · 01/12/2017 12:01

Let's pray not.

Fuck. That just ISN'T appropriate, is it?

Who are they anyway? [gimmer]

FrayedHem · 01/12/2017 12:01

The Young Pope was being premiered at the Venice Film Festival last year, which is where those photos are from. So although the tv show wasn't a Huge Thing, the film festival itself is a Big Deal and I guess the two models were profile boosting.

Google reveals you can buy the fuscia number for $189!

AssassinatedBeauty · 01/12/2017 12:01

Isn't the attention what the "fun" is based on?

RatRolyPoly · 01/12/2017 12:04

Yeah, probably Assassinated, and the associated powerplay. Also just being ridiculous is sometimes liberating.

Finola1step · 01/12/2017 12:05

Oh and wrt to trend, I'm sure I saw one of the women from Towie being papped in something similar. Not sure who as I've never watched it. But definitely something v recently. So watch this space people. Fanny dresses will be heading to a cheesy night club near you v soon.

MrLovebucket · 01/12/2017 12:05

I can't get passed the tan lines on picture #1

Surely she could afford to get some fake tan on that outline of her bikini bottoms to try and make it blend in?

Finola1step · 01/12/2017 12:06

Fun?

hiyasminitsme · 01/12/2017 12:07

Hideous! with a body like that you could do so much better.

ALLthedinosaurs · 01/12/2017 12:08

I clicked on this thread expecting to tell you that youre being a prude and that women can wear whatever the fuck they want.

HOWEVER

Now I'm freezing my tits off in bed, eating some vegetarian pate on toast that in all seriousness tastes like sweaty crotch, and I have the visual. So thanks for that, my breakfast is ruined 🤢

The first dress is a gorgeous colour though. Shame about the side - crotch.

VladmirsPoutine · 01/12/2017 12:09

Yanbu. I'm no prude and an ardent preacher of women's rights and voices but that looks patently ridiculous.

MorrisZapp · 01/12/2017 12:09

Can somebody explain picture two please.

RatRolyPoly · 01/12/2017 12:10

Not meaning to be a problematic feminist but I do hear things like this and think "yeah, but why should she?". Women don't owe it to anyone to be beautiful, not even ones with great bodies. We can look all out nuts if we want, for whatever reason we want!

Ofthread · 01/12/2017 12:11

It's called a vagina dress.
