because I haven't got any clue. Literally no ideas at all.....and people are going to ask me what I'd like, and I'm just going to sound like an idiot saying, "I don't really want/need anything" just like I do every year.

So please tell me what you want so I can pass it off as my own opinion....

DVD of The Handmaid's Tale

The Unexpected Truth about Animals by Lucy Cooke

Floellabumbags · 24/11/2017 14:36

A bench peg and anvil, hammers and a hearth with a fuck-off big blow torch. And an extension to put it all in.

Abetes · 24/11/2017 14:37

Perhaps go for experience type things such as membership of an art gallery, cinema tickets, theatre tickets, spa voucher, train tickets for a day out, restaurant voucher, haircut/colour etc.
Or go for practical things that you will always need and then when you do want to treat yourself you will have some spare cash to spend. Or go for more upmarket versions of things that you use all the time like posh shower gel, shampoo, food stuffs etc.

MissSueFlay · 24/11/2017 14:37

If you have enough 'stuff' then ask for experiences instead - vouchers for the cinema, restaurants, spa treatments, cookery course, etc.

DH and I one year asked for everyone to get us Halfords vouchers and we then bought ourselves a couple of good bikes in the New Year.

noeffingidea · 24/11/2017 14:37

A diffuser thing to fit on my hairdryer.

MissSueFlay · 24/11/2017 14:37

Join me in my book fort...look for 'silicon shoe laces' on Ebay and pick a colour Smile

Sgtmajormummy · 24/11/2017 14:50

I wouldn't have thought to ask for one but (4?) Christmases ago I was given a pottery oil burner / crucible thing that uses tealights.
It's a pretty object that should last forever, it lights and perfumes the room and is great for getting rid of cooking smells which are obviously particles suspended in the air (sprouts anyone?!). No smoke or smuts because the crucible stays above the flame.
With good quality essential oils (I love real lavender/fresia/honeysuckle and hate artificial) I've ditched the Glade!

DJBaggySmalls · 24/11/2017 14:50

Morphene Get a dressing gown with a hood. They're the best.

aliphil · 24/11/2017 14:51

Socks. Seriously. I want some really nice ones rather than supermarket cheapies for a change.
Some decent embroidery scissors, preferably with a case.
Chocolates.
Amazon vouchers so I can buy Kindle books.

Morphene · 24/11/2017 14:51

There are so very many things listed here that I don't know anything about...

Is there a games console that would let my DD play a game that involves exploring a jungle?

I would buy one if games like that exist....
