Just because a group of law makers decide that unless we agree to ignore biological facts we are committing a ‘hate crime’ that does not make scientific facts less true.

Recognising gender is not the same as recognising sex. I will recognise you want to be called a woman but don’t expect me to accept your apportioning of my biological sex in my mind. Nobody can police peoples thoughts.

I wonder if white people decided to demand to be called black and changed the definition of black to encompass blonde haired blue eyed privileged people, then accused black people of hate crimes wheb they told white people they were not going to accept that, how well that would go down I wonder?

Refusing to be gas lighted is not a hate crime. I'd say, if anything, insisting that black is white, and penis = woman, is far more dangerous and hurtful than stating simple facts. Women don't have penises. Fact.

I've seen that on these boards and elsewhere mostly in the dailymail, and although it's unquestionably ignorance, I don't think it's considered to be a hate crime.

Friend, if I object to someone telling me I am a non trans woman is that not a hate crime too since it is denying me the right to assert that my sexual and gender identity is as a woman ?

I think what I and many women are having problems with over the whole trans debate is that however sympathetic we might feel towards people who want to transition we are uncomfortably aware that this is now being seen as a priority and the wants,needs and desires of women who have always been women are being ignored and belittled.

It strikes me as odd and disturbing that for millennia women have had to put up with having very few or no rights, and now those that we have managed to achieve are now being dismantled because a small number of men who identify as women but want to retain the features that make them men feel their rights trump ours .

A woman is a woman.

A transwoman is a transwoman.
