To think this restaurant is slightly out of order?

Afternoon all.

Each week I eat the same meal at the same restaurant, same time, same day (same table if the winds blowing in the right direction Wink). This has been a routine for just over a year Smile. I've become friendly with the staff - first name terms with a couple of the regulars.

Each week I leave one element of the meal. The last 3 ish times that I've visited I've been served this meal without this element. Hmm.

No one has ever mentioned it to me, or offered a reduction in cost or a replacement item.

AIBU to think that it isn't the restaurant's place to make this decision on my behalf?

So which bit aren’t you eating?

SeekEveryEveryKnownHidingPlace · 13/11/2017 13:13

At supplementary cost?

I'm still confused - why does having the eggs mean you get more beans?

OlennasWimple · 13/11/2017 13:13

I don't understand how leaving off one item means you also get less of another item? Confused

ChaosTrulyReigns · 13/11/2017 13:13

Sometimes I reckon they poach the eggs in neat malt vinegar. I wouldn't dream of complaining.

They utterly don't know how lucky they are to have a customer like me. [Angel{

So you only eat one slice of toast but you get more beans on two slices? Just ask for a few more beans to make up for the lack of toast?

Who would add eggs to that?

SeekEveryEveryKnownHidingPlace · 13/11/2017 13:13

So you ask for eggs as an extra, but you don't eat them? And now they haven't given you them?

Dobopdidoo1 · 13/11/2017 13:14

So which element do you leave out? The beans or the toast? I’m confused

Duckwich · 13/11/2017 13:14

This is about 1 piece of toast? LMFAO

Bringmewineandcake · 13/11/2017 13:14

The best part of £6 for beans and eggs??? Shock
You definitely need to be speaking up and demanding extra beans!

No she gets 2 slices of toast as part of the meal but only eats 1 as she's doing SW.

The extra piece of toast means more beans to cover it.

Now they have taken away the other slice of toast.

Just ask for extra beans OP.

BaronessEllaSaturday · 13/11/2017 13:17

I assume its bread you are leaving, if only one slice of bread on the plate there will be less beans needed to cover it but the op wants the beans just not the bread. Just speak to them about it op, explain why.

pasturesgreen · 13/11/2017 13:17

YABU for ordering beans on toast when eating out!! Wink

Aridane · 13/11/2017 13:18

She leaves the second bit of toast but eats the beans on it. Now the second bit of toast is being removed, she has less beans

ChaosTrulyReigns · 13/11/2017 13:18

Yeah I only eat one slight of toast.

I don't ask for more beans becayse that would be impolite, non?

I already feel my order is complex "beans on DRY toast, wholemeal please, could I gave 2 poached eggs as an extra please, and a pot of tea, English breakfast, ooh have you got slimmed milk?"

I REALLY don't want to add "no farking vinegar and extra beans please" to that interaction.Smile

PinkHeart5914 · 13/11/2017 13:18

Please say you don’t want a reduction for the slice of toast you leave? 😂 and as for saying I lose some beans, I mean could anyone really care about a missing spoon of beans 😂😂

Have you thought about making this meal at home? Or finding a diffrent place, I mean variety is good and you’ve been here for a year? Or just say can I have 1 toast, a few extra beans and my eggs?

whiskyowl · 13/11/2017 13:18

Just talk to them, for Christ's sake!! You're on first name terms but you can't say "I'd like to order the fried breakfast, but without the eggs - but please can you add on a bit more toast, I love the toast"?

BakedBeans47 · 13/11/2017 13:19

Eh? All this is over a slice of toast?

ChaosTrulyReigns · 13/11/2017 13:19

Not to mention my dad's friffing about with his Full English Grin

(totally missed point of thread) Hmm

ChaosTrulyReigns · 13/11/2017 13:21

I seem to remember that cooking poached eggs in water with some vinegar keeps the white of the egg all together rather than going all runny everywhere.
