To want to know how much you have spent up to now?

On Christmas presents. I decided to keep track this year as I went a bit mad last time.
I've spent 110 up to now, that is between 6 people and I have nearly finished buying for three of them.
I seem to be doing well up to now but I always look at the presents under the tree just before Christmas and decide it doesn't look like enough and then order loads of crap

So far - nothing - and it will stay that way until 1st December!

Zero pounds and zero pence because I just can't be bothered yet. I'm usually a bit more organised and do a huge shop on John Lewis at the end of October; having everything delivered in one go makes life so much easier (and means I don't double-buy) but I'm feeling a bit 'bleh' about the whole season.

I need some Baileys and Mariah, that'll get me shopping and wrapping.

Cant be arsed but only have my Mum and dd so instead of buying each other a lot of presents we're going on a holiday instead

I usually get the DC'S presents in November and buy for rest of the relatives is December, to spread the cost.
I've spent £50 on Ds's present so far and will spend the same on Dd.

Christmas is a terrible time of year, we are all turned into rabid consumers.

Apart from a scooter we spotted for DC3 in a ridiculous summer sale (under £20) we haven't bought any presents at all. Cards, wrap, decorations all sorted though, and I would guess maybe £50 this year? Only around £20 of that is consumable, the rest ornaments, tree decorations, LED candles, etc.

Lots of lists written. I find it helpful for both budgeting and fairness to write as close to a full list as possible before starting. That involves online research and real life window shopping.

I like to be finished by about 10 December so we can forget commercialism and get into the school nativity/carol singing/Christingle/Christmas party/visiting relatives part of the season.

About a fiver on stocking presents, DH buys the main presents, with my input, with Amazon vouchers he has earnt from doing surveys this year our budget is £25 per person or £50 per couple if they want a joint present. We will stick to this. For anyone who thinks we're stingy it's hard enough getting anyone to ask for anything over a tenner

About $100 on DS1 and $70 on DS2 and am getting new stocking sacks embroided. That's probably it for gifts for the kids, other than some chocolate coins/glo-sticks etc. I always get everything done early so I can collect it when I go to New York each November with work.

My parents are here for Christmas for the first time ever (I live in Caribbean) so food/drink expenditure is likely going to be extortionate. I don't care though, I bloody love Christmas, it's my favorite time of year.

£18, on something for MIL. I spotted it when I was looking for a new raincoat a couple of weeks ago and knew she'd love it.

My brother and I have a no-gifts agreement, and our parents are dead, so that only leaves me with DP to buy for. He wants a new pair of motorbike boots, so I've set a budget of £300 for those. And that'll be me done!

We give the older nieces and nephews money, because that's what they want, and only buy for the 8-year old. The adults don't buy gifts for each other, by agreement. DP will get DSS's present, I'll probably find something for DIL, and we'll buy books for DGD, and take her for a day out somewhere. She's got more toys than you can shake a stick at, and her parents are always moaning about all the plastic crap the other GPs get, so we prefer to do small gifts but nice outings.

I haven’t started buying yet and I won’t until December. I have budget of £300 and I’ve made sure I cannot physically spend any more than that. Next year I’ll be starting present shopping in the summer and hope to have it all finished by the start of winter. Then I can spend the Christmas period for walking down markets and buying hot chocolate and cute little trinkets

Zero. And it'll remain that way - we don't do presents in my family any more now we're adults, and DH and I stopped doing presents years ago, we have enough 'stuff' as is. Christmas is for the kids, and we can't have DC, so we don't really 'do' Christmas

I'll spend a fiver on the office secret santa, and will make the annual donation to Shelter, but otherwise won't be spending anything on gifts

Very little the rule in our house is all gifts are Home made for each other.

Knitted items, wicker, wooden furniture, Soap etc all have been made so far

Currently about 200 quid but my park vouchers came on Wednesday so tonight I am having a takeaway bottle of wine and ordering all my presents and then barring the hotel chocolat that my mum likes which il order nearer the time I will have got everything! Barring food which will be delivered to M&S on the 23rd of December and tesco delivery! I love shopping but hate shops and I like all December free to do Christmassy things!

I start early and have spent around £400 each for my 2 girls inc a Nintendo switch to share and £100 between 5 nieces and nephews. Still got to buy for parents and dh. Total spend will be around £1500 inc food
