To expect payment for ticket .............

Help needed please!
Was very close to friend for years. She's rubbish with money but was good at spending mine! We don't see each other so much, but still chat and I went to her birthday bash a few weeks ago.

It took me a while, but the penny finally dropped and I no longer 'lend' her money. (Think 'loan' for £1000 seven years ago and have only had £200 ish back).

There is a band that we have always wanted to see - I know I sound about 10!), so we agreed that I would get the tickets on my card and she would reimburse me after Glastonbury - very expensive!

Here's the thing - tomorrow is the day we go and I think (know?) that she won't have the money.

WIBU to just not go with her? Am meant to be picking her up at 12 pm.

I reckon she ended up paying for her, her hotel, ticket, food, the lot. And is too embarrassed to come back and tell us

If you did end up going together OP don’t feel bad. My advice is to stop putting things on your card and when she suggests things just say you are broke.

Whatever happened this time, don't get into that situation again. There's lots of helpful advice on here about how to not give in to a CF.

Maybe there were no concert tickets and the op spun the tale in the hope that someone on here would send her cash for the non existent spare ticket. And no takers so she's disappeared?

You cannot change her behaviour but you most certainly can change your own reaction to her behaviour, OP.

It's entirely up to you whether you want to keep subsidising her or not. If she continues to do this to you, well that is your decision. However, you do have the option of putting a stop to it.

Maybe I'm naive but why would the OP make up such a story? What do they get out of it?

I think we are all being a tad unfair to the OP. I'm sure there's a valid reason why she couldn't update the thread that was so important to her yesterday. Perhaps they don't have wifi in hotels in Birmingham?

I've often had a busy thread (different name) that I've abandoned while the events unfolded etc.
OP probably wants to get her thoughts together or relax after the gig, lay off!
