Sitting on a very busy underground train. 2 ladies and 2 children get on. One child, under 2, in push chair and 'mum' holding second child, 6 ish. Mum then walks in between seats with 6 yr old and asks if someone can please give up seat for her child. Mother nor child seem distressed or unable to stand. Lady in her 60s ish gets up for child, at next stop passenger adjacent to child and lady in her 60s gets off the train so mum and child seat together. No issues whatsoever. In fact are now chatting away happily ??? Comments please.

I got shouted at by a woman yesterday for standing on a crowded tube. No seats. I was stood by the door so i could hold the pole but plenty of room to get round. "are you getting off, if not why are you stood here", properly screaming in my face. Asked her where else i was supposed to stand and she ignored me.

On a crowded tube a child is much more likely to get pushed around, bags banged into them and people to generally not notice they are there. They can also only hang onto the upright pole. At 5ft 4 I struggle with the ones on the ceiling

No I wouldn't offer my seat to a six year old and I wouldn't have expected anyone to offer them (meaning my children) a seat either. If any adult had offered them a seat I would have declined on their behalf.
The exception is of course if the child is ill or has additional needs, in which case the mother should have said so, if it wasn't visible.
