Good morning all.

I have done something that has made me so embarrassed I think I have personally contributed to global warming with my beetroot face.

Last night, around 11.39pm, my friend Whatsapped me asking how I was feeling and was my husband still awake? For some unknown drunken reason I texted her back instead of replying to the Whatsapp message.

I texted her back the following; 'Sadly not, he's fallen asleep and I'm as randy as a bloody buggerhound!'

But of course I didn't send it to my friend - oh no.
I discovered about 20 minutes ago that I actually sent it to my DS's Martial Arts teacher.

So... do I send him a grovelling apology 'Oh my god' text, or when I drop DS to MA later today do I just ignore the whole thing and brave it out and hope that he magically didn't receive it?

Thanks in advance Blush

Just send a follow up “oops clearly the wrong person text” and forgot about it.

MyOtherNameIsAFordFiesta · 23/10/2017 11:32

Tell him your mobile was stolen and you'll give him your new number soon. Then in a couple of days say "oh, they were able to block the phone and I'm keeping my old number".

TheDodgyEnd · 23/10/2017 11:33

What MrsEight said. Also this is hilarious but I feel your pain, I’ve been furious with someone and sent THEM the message ranting about them rather than the intended recipient! Resilience builds us lol

RochelleGoyle · 23/10/2017 11:35

Just text him and say sorry for any embarrassment caused, obviously the text wasn't for him. Worse things happen at sea!

MontytheSpookyMouse · 23/10/2017 11:38

You so need to text him and say so sorry text the wrong person.
Did he reply??!

You can't just leave it and pretend it never happened as from the tone of the text it isn't entirely clear you were not propositioning him Grin

KeyboardCat · 23/10/2017 11:45

Well, he didn't reply to that text, but I did receive another text from him this morning, from a different phone number, saying 'Looking forward to seeing you all at class later!'

Maybe I should expect another text from him saying 'Especially YOU'

Oh blimey, I'm going to just get it over with.

OK, this is what I've put;

'Right, I've just finished dying of embarrassment enough to apologise for that message. Lesson learnt, never drink and text, unless you want to make an unforgettable first impression (about 30 'blush' faces)'

Oh I forgot to say, this is our second week in his class.

If he's replied from a different number is it possible he's changed his phone number and therefore hasn't seen it?? Hopeful...

aaaaargghhhhelpme · 23/10/2017 12:04

Haha. Well done op. Good response. Best off tackling things head on. Get the embarrassment done and dusted in one go like ripping a plaster off!

Hope it's not too embarrassing at drop off later!

GourmetFishFinger · 23/10/2017 12:06

Keep the reply short and simple.

mishfish · 23/10/2017 12:06

OMG

theymademejoin · 23/10/2017 12:09

I would follow that up with another text saying "P.S. Just in case it wasn't clear, the text sent last night was meant for someone else", as I think your follow up text could read that it was a drunken proposition you now regret.

Of course, if he's anything like my ds' MA teacher, the admission of drinking would nearly be worse than the proposition Grin. But our guy is a bit extreme.

KeyboardCat · 23/10/2017 12:18

Oh god, he's replied saying 'Sorry for what message?' which may mean he hadn't seen it until I sent that cocking apology message!!!!

Then immediately afterwards he sent a picture message that I can't download because my reception isn't strong enough to download picture messages!! It could be a laughing face, it could be a shocked face, it could be a legal document demanding I stay away from him....

The shame...

Just reply saying: "I mistakenly sent you a message intended for someone else. Glad to hear you never got it"

Smiler1972 · 23/10/2017 12:25

Its going to be a picture of a randy buggerhound. Please post it here Smile

MovingOnUpMovingOnOut · 23/10/2017 12:25

It was bad before but the second text makes it SO much worse.

Why didn't you just say "sorry, that was obviously meant for someone else"?

It totally looks like you have propositioned him now.

MovingOnUpMovingOnOut · 23/10/2017 12:27

Could be a dick pic. Hope not.

Awful.

CrumpettyTree · 23/10/2017 12:29

I agree with this

Fruitcorner123 · 23/10/2017 12:30

Op I dont think your second text didnt make it clear that the text wasnt originally meant for him! Please keep us updated in what the photo is!!

Fruitcorner123 · 23/10/2017 12:31

Sorry double negatives! You know what i mean i think

theymademejoin · 23/10/2017 12:32

@Fruitcorner123 - that's a lot of negatives!

theymademejoin · 23/10/2017 12:33

cross-post. I think so Smile

BestestBrownies · 23/10/2017 12:34

My money's on a dick-pic too Grin

ThroughThickAndThin01 · 23/10/2017 12:37

The second text was worse! Made it sound like the original one was sent to him while you were drunk.

ThroughThickAndThin01 · 23/10/2017 12:38

..intentionally sent to him. ...
