Equality for everyone!!! Hurrah!!

Apart from the fact that equality means the erosion of rights from 50% of the population.

But let’s jump on the bandwagon of being cool and accepting....and not doing any research into the subject, for example how drugs that suppress puberty can result in life limiting side effects.

Let’s not talk about men convicted of rape who end up in women’s prisons or the medals won by men competing in women’s sport.

Agghh

Trans women are NOT biological women, a penis is male not female.

The gender identity Bill will erode women's rights and May has not done research into this but jumped into the so called pc bandwagon.

MuseumOfCurry · 20/10/2017 07:40

Don't forget the helpful recommendations that women should call tbeir vaginas "front holes" so they don't trigger trans women. And "chest feeding".

Is this true?

Seems TM has jumped on the 'right on' bandwagon.

CosmicPineapple · 20/10/2017 07:40

Nope. They will still be women only. Because trans women are women.

^This is how womens rights and identity will be eroded.

When men can wear a dress, call themself Sally and demand that that they are recognised as women they are infact taking away womens rights and identity.

Humans cannot change sex. EVER.

I will not be part of their fantasy.

LakieLady · 20/10/2017 07:41

Your brain feeling you have a limb you shouldn't have is exactly the same as your brain feeling you have a penis you shouldn't have. Exactly the same.

Hmmm, I'm not so sure. People are treated differently according to their sex, but not because they have two legs. It's not all about the penis, although imo possession of a penis should prohibit someone from accessing women's safe spaces unless they're in the process of transition.

And I'm not even sure about the last bit, tbh.

AllMyBestFriendsAreMetalheads · 20/10/2017 07:43

It's nice to have Dr May around to tell us what is and isn't an illness.

Can we apply this thinking to other mental health issues? Is this the great plan to save the NHS - redefine what illness is?

Notsofunnythesecondtime · 20/10/2017 07:53

Don't forget the helpful recommendations that women should call tbeir vaginas "front holes" so they don't trigger trans women.

Who has suggested this? Seriously, front holes?

araiwa · 20/10/2017 08:01

i googled front holes

most of it links back to mumsnet Grin

sounds like cancelling christmas to not offend anyone bullshit

Nickynackynoodle · 20/10/2017 08:02

YANBU. There's a serious lack of critical thinking on this threat, in society and definitely at Westminster.

Nickynackynoodle · 20/10/2017 08:04

@araiwa I just googled "trans front hole" and only one page linked to MN so you're either not so good with the google machine or you're being dishonest.

AdalindSchade · 20/10/2017 08:09

There was a leaflet produced for trans sexual health teaching that advised practitioners how trans people (apparently) prefer to refer to their genitalia.
Penises are a strapless (as in dildo)
Vaginas are front holes
Clitorises are dicks
Penises are pussies
Surgically created pockets of scrotal tissue are vaginas
This leaflet was printed but was not aimed at non trans people.

araiwa · 20/10/2017 08:11

did you actually look yourself?

the links were websites talking about what they had read about front holes on mumsnet

www.debatepolitics.com/sex-and-sexuality/264284-transsurdity-day-vagina-trans-front-hole-cis.html for example

AdalindSchade · 20/10/2017 08:13

I don't have the link but I definitely read it at the time.
I don't expect you to take my word for it but it does exist.

LazySusan11 · 20/10/2017 08:22

Yesterday I saw a bodyform advert where they used red liquid stating that periods are natural and not blue liquid. Someone wrote underneath ‘good advert bodyform but it’s not just women that have periods’

News to me.

bambambini · 20/10/2017 08:22

I can't accept that "woman" and "female" has been redifined by men - and women are called bigots for questioning this and wanting to talk about it. I also don't accept males having the right to compete in female sports.

We're being told sex, biology no longer matters. It's easier for men to say this - not so much for women and girls to take this line.

Nickynackynoodle · 20/10/2017 08:23

What really gets my goat is that we're told men are women if they day so, don't argue or you're a bigot but if the eldest child of a peer is a woman who identifies as a man? Jog on, you're not getting the title and inheritance, the eldest son with still get that.

It's so bloody hypocritical. It's so in favour of men and women are expected to budge up and shut up.

treaclesoda · 20/10/2017 08:27

How ironic that a government that insists on intrusive medical testing for people to prove they are disabled is happy to say 'medical experts be damned' when it comes to something as fundamental as 'what makes someone male or female'.

CAAKE · 20/10/2017 08:33

The thing is, there is an awful lot of knowledge about trans issues and the workings of the “trans cult” on the MN feminism boards. MN will always come up top of your search because it’s a popular, high-traffic UK website.

If you truly want to become more enlightened take a look at the twitter feeds of these authors (I’ll try with some links too):

Ah FFS. Links all over the place. Sorry.

JoanneCoften · 20/10/2017 08:35

Being a woman is nothing about feelings, it's about having female genitalia, female sex chromosomes which are in every single cell in the female body, female medical issues (a transwoman will never have gynae issues, just like a woman will never have prostate issues).
On the face of it, if a man wants to live as a woman, fine, do whatever makes you happy, but don't throw women under the bus in a PC bid to make sure the aggressively vocal minority of transwoman are appeased.
A man can never become a woman and vice versa, and how bizarre and dangerous that we live in an era when saying that is becoming increasingly controversial, and that the people saying this are at risk of being attacked and threatened.

JoanneCoften · 20/10/2017 08:36

And what treaclesoda said.

JoanneCoften · 20/10/2017 08:39

And it's about women's disadvantage at the hands of men, as seen recently with #metoo.
Why are we having to accept more disadvantage at the hands of men who want to be women, and deny our innate biology and our need for a set of rights that help to keep us safe, and sex separated sports so we can compete on a level playing field, and so on and so on.

DamnSummerCold · 20/10/2017 08:39

This

How ironic that a government that insists on intrusive medical testing for people to prove they are disabled is happy to say 'medical experts be damned' when it comes to something as fundamental as 'what makes someone male or female'.

Hell of a good point @treaclesoda

EmpressOfTheSpartacusOceans · 20/10/2017 08:40

If being trans is not an illness then there's no reason for medication or surgery to be provided by the NHS.

And definitely no reason for kids and young people to be put on puberty blockers or cross-sex hormones, because there's nothing to medicate them for.
