To think this is DD hinting that she is a lesbian?

Hello, just curious really, as that's what I'm thinking.

DD is a massive feminist. She will spend hours debating with people. She said tonight that it's a shame she is attracted to men as she's never going to be keen on the way heterosexual relationships work (that women need to be wined and dined and be looked after, etc.) and thinks this will be a problem for future relationships.

I don't know, it seemed very much like she was hinting. It doesn't matter. I'm just wondering if I should ask her.

I give through womenforwomen international and lendwithcare every month, quite a lot, I am a high earner. I support the women's international league for peace and freedom financially and in person. Locally I volunteer for a charity that helps sex workers on the street. Since you ask. I don't know what I have to do with it - you and your dh were the ones saying we should help women abroad before are allowed to moan about the treatment of women here - does it turn out you do neither?

"you and your dh were the ones saying we should help women abroad before are allowed to moan about the treatment of women here - does it turn out you do neither?"

@chestylarue52 I have no idea why you're referring to a "dh", as I don't have one and haven't referred to one on this thread. I did not say that people need to help women abroad before being allowed to moan about the treatment of women here. I said that it is possible to care about more than one thing at a time. Have you mistaken me for another poster?

Sorry assassinatedbeauty my post tagged you because I was quoting the op and she tagged you! I'm new to mn so the quoting/tagging thing is new to me. I was asking the op what she and her dh do to support women in other places not you since she said we're not allowed to moan about women in the uk before we help people abroad. Apologies. It may turn out her and her husband do absolutely loads! And then I will happily stand corrected 🙂

Assassinated, you misunderstood chesty's post, the first part was a quote and she was talking to OP.

Chesty, you mistook Assassinated for the OP

:)

Easy to misunderstand seeing as it seemed to be addressed to me!

"Look at all other species on this earth, they're built differently to accommodate different tasks. The men are strong to collect food and the women stay to raise their young."

So which are these animals where the mother stays at home while the father goes out to collect food for the family? I'm struggling to think of a single species.

Cows- nope! You don't see a bull bringing back some nice grass for the cows and calves of his flock.

Horses- nope! Stallions are not known for their selfless tendencies.

Sheep- same here.

Lions- errr, it actually tends to be the lioness who does most of the hunting for the pack. (As well as suckling the babies, obviously)

Canines- often only the alpha pair that is allowed to breed, hunting is done and food brought back by all pack members, of both sexes.

Elephants- herd is led by a matriarch, males lead a separate life and contribute nothing to the young beyond their sperm.

Bees- worker bees are all female, only function of the male drones is to mate with the queen.

Birds- tend to take it in turns.

Fish- all possible configurations here, from releasing eggs randomly, to either male or female brooding.

Human pre-agricultural societies- as far as evidence goes, far less strictly gendered than modern society: the whole tribe on the move and involved in food collecting.

Traditional agricultural societies- vary a fair bit, in W Africa for instance, women traditionally do most of the heavy farming (men involve in fighting and decision-making).

Come on OP, tell us- which are these species???
