To ask what is your favourite perfume that you can actually smell after an hour?

Lots of times someone will walk past me and there will be an overriding whiff of a gorgeous perfume they're wearing (should I ask what it is, would that be weird?). I can never seem to find one that lasts a good while.

An hour ago I put on Cacherel, Noa, and I swear it's gone already...but smelled lovely for the first 5 minutes. Have I just gotten used to it or is it just crap? I just want a lovely, sweet, vanilla type fragrance that lasts a bit longer but have yet to find it.

I love Ghost's Deep Night, and Angel (thierry mugler?) but I've run out and can't remember if they lasted well. I've actually got a Jade Goody one that lasts pretty well despite being very cheap! I'd love Shalimar, but don't want to waste money if it doesn't linger. I've also tried a Kate Moss one (horrid), and Givenchy-irresistible, which I think was quite decent. Any good recommendations?

@Elphame First was the perfume my grandmother wore, I keep a bottle just to sniff when I want to bring her back to me. Timeless and gorgeous.

I find Guerlain Samsara lasts well also Chanel Allure - but it's bloody expensive!

Try getting the oil versions from Perfume Parlour,they last ages ime.

Marc Jacobs perfumes lastvwell- especially Lola.

Creed Royal Princess Oud, lasts and lasts. Expensive but fabulous.

Chanel, I often spray some in the air and walk into, my hair holds the smell for ages, and it's not overwhelming.

If you wear the same one all the time you won’t be able to smell it on yourself. If you chop and change you’ll be able to notice them a bit more. Look for Eau de Parfum ones too they last a bit longer as they are stronger

Yellow Diamond by Versace. I can't smell it after an hour or so, but I get compliments all day long.

Hypnotic poison is vanilla (and liquorice scented) and lasts very well. Had a taxi driver tell me I smelled like an ice-cream!

Dolce and Gabbana The one. That's my scent and it really lasts.

You will never be able to smell the perfume you have applied to yourself for long as you get used to it. The best is Chanel No. 5 I wear nothing else... Especially in bed.....

I have a Jo Malone one that lasts ages. Earl Grey and something.

I also get comments on Chanel coco mademoiselle and Dior addict
Although I like Ellie Saab and Lancôme perfumes they don't seem to last as long on me at least

Chanel- Coco Mademoiselle, last all day long.

Another vote for Mitsouko and Amarige. Both last well, as do Dioressence and Balmain's Vent Vert.

I love Prada's Iris, but after 20 minutes, the scent has worn off, so I've never bothered buying any.
