I'm still trying to get my head around Trump threatening to wipe out 25 million people (Destroy NK) in his first speech to the UN. I'm totally stuck between wtf and yup that's just Trump. He really truly is showing his dictator tendencies and without a care in the world it seems.

oh. My. GOD!!!! I just can't bear it. Right now being an American like being on the worst blind date in the world. Where you're sitting, red-faced with embarrassment, in a nice restaurant with some fool who's loudly talking complete bullshit with his mouth full of food, treating the wait-staff like servants, and everyone in the room is staring at you wondering "Why is that nice woman with that tacky, classless, ignorant buffoon?". And you can't leave because you have no car keys and no money to call a taxi. You are stuck until the buffoon is done and gets impeached takes you home.

Remember we have a Foreign Secretary who refers to 'piccaninnies' and is known to lie routinely in writing with apparently no effect on his career or prospects, and a blind date of our own who is going on and on and on in a monotone about the iniquities of the legal department at her workplace while we are wondering why such a dull woman has so many legal difficulties and when she might consider offering to order a drink.

On the other hand, I saw a profile of Merkel on last night's Newsnight and it was great. She is really interesting. One of the things that came up again and again was how many people had underestimated her political ability & how she's outlasted them all.
