Not that I do it!
But they are worn next to the skin for 8 hours and I'd wash anything else worn like that..

What do you think?

I change top everyday as I find I get back acne if I wear it more than once, pj bottoms I change every 2/3 days

minionsrule · 01/09/2017 17:41

And this thread is the reason we struggled with 22kg of luggage for 7 nights holiday all due to different night shirt and shorts for 7 nights Shock

Tiger44 · 01/09/2017 17:47

Ha ha I'm with the mingers obviously. Naked in bed except for pants to keep the poo crumbs in. But we don't have a shower and I certainly don't bath daily. Such as waste of water and it is so bad for your skin! A bit of grime is healthy.

Lovingit81 · 01/09/2017 17:48

Ha ha ha I haven't read the answers but yes that should but no they are not in our household!

stardust18 · 01/09/2017 17:53

I wash everybody's after 1 night none of us where pants underneath so I'd feel grim putting them on again.

grannytomine · 01/09/2017 18:00

Putting pyjama bottoms on more than once feels like wearing yesterday's knickers. Hence I wear a nightie as I think they are OK to wear more than once.

BLONDIEMUMMY · 01/09/2017 18:02

I Have a clean pair for every evening and so do my children... just always have Confused

SunshineLollipopsRainbows25 · 01/09/2017 18:04

my daughter wears them for about an hour then strips off for bed she gets too hot

manicmij · 01/09/2017 18:04

Goodness, how have folk survived from the days when washing was done once a week and pjs certainly not washed after one wear. A-folk could afford 7 sets of nightwear. B-imagine scrubbing a whole family's nightwear e.g. 4x7=28. Get real, we are obsessed with hygiene, wipes for this, sprays for that and showering every day. No wonder there is a huge increase in lung and skin problems. We are the cause!

Wrapmeupincottonwool · 01/09/2017 18:06

I wash my children's pjs everyday, mainly due to them getting filthy after breakfast. I go to bed in a vest top, which I would have worn that day. Sounds a bit icky writing it. I do care about the environment but with three children under 4 I tend to put on about 1-2 washes a day.

Maireadplastic · 01/09/2017 18:11

'I need new nightwear every night. Doesn't mean I don't care about the environment. I wouldn't wash them if I didn't need to.'

'I do care about the environment but with three children under 4 I tend to put on about 1-2 washes a day.'

Oh my god, I must ming to high heaven as I cannot believe these people are real.

Cailleach666 · 01/09/2017 18:13

mairead- I don't get your point.

I do at least 10 loads a wee, often more. Five of us.

Cailleach666 · 01/09/2017 18:14

Ha ha- a week, not a wee!

LakieLady · 01/09/2017 18:17

An evening bath or shower is a much better idea. Generally we get sweaty and dirty during the day,

Speak for yourself! I like getting sweaty and dirty of a night ...

Cailleach666 · 01/09/2017 18:22

Speak for yourself! I like getting sweaty and dirty of a night ...

Exactly.

I am often overly fragrant in the morning.

AnnieAnoniMouse · 01/09/2017 18:27

Mingers always say 'It's bad for your skin' 🤣

I shower (at least) twice a day
I wash my hair at least once a day
I don't wear pyjamas/nighties (occasionally pants)
Bedding & towels changed at least twice a week
Knickers, socks AND bras at least daily (clean ones on if the original ones come off for any reason)
Tops fresh daily
Shorts/jeans/trousers one or two wears
Tea towels go in a separate wash.

I declare anything less 'minging' and anything more 'neurotic'. If you could all follow the Rulz we could do away with these repetitive threads.

😊🤣

You can tell it's the holidays ScaryClown has started another wind up thread 🤡🤣

keffie12 · 01/09/2017 18:32

Wash them everyday. I think it's horrible not too. Mind you once I am home I do put on what they now call loungewear on if no one is expected. Far more comfortable than normal clothes and bliss

Gottagetmoving · 01/09/2017 18:32

I don't wear pjs in bed. I just wear them to relax in all evening.
I wash them when I remember to, usually if I have split something down the top.
I can't quite believe how obsessed and paranoid people have become about washing and germs. To be honest I think it's pathetic people are so bloody precious.

Maireadplastic · 01/09/2017 18:35

Cailleach- 5 of us here too. 3 boys aged 13, 10 and 6 and a husband who wears a shirt a day. I don't do anything like that number of loads of washing.

'I wash my hair at least once a day'. Again, is this person real?

Cailleach666 · 01/09/2017 18:43

mairread-
I wash nearly 100 socks a week.

Five sets of bedding ( three double beds)
Towels- washed every few times- 20 big towels a week.
15 shirts for school and work.
35 sets of pjs.
10 leotards- 10 pairs of leggings and dance tights
10 gym kits, shorts, leggings t shirts
Not to mention casual wear jeans, t shirts, shirts and the ongoing bit items like coats, covers, kitchen cloths etc.

Jeans, fleeces, jumpers and all worn 3 or 4 times before washing

Never less than 10 a week

Maireadplastic · 01/09/2017 18:51

Cailleach,
As I say, I must ming to night heaven. (Actually I don't- clean, tidy house. Cleanish kids but I must admit to not bothering cleaning shorts with a bit of mud on if they are going to wear them to play football and add to the mud. I don't know why anyone would. As long as pants and socks are clean, I don't obsess about the rest, particularly over Summer hols).

Gannicusthemannicus · 01/09/2017 18:54

As a grim student, I change my pyjamas when they start feeling sweaty once every 2 weeks and my bedding gets changed if I spill something on it so about once in 3 months

Might be grim but no-one has complained yet!

windygallows · 01/09/2017 18:55

This thread makes me despair. I can't believe how many people believe they need to wash their pjs (and all clothes) every time they're worn (when do they find the time), and constantly shower - it's just not necessary. I don't know when this shift took place and how I ended up in the minority in thinking this is nuts.

Lovelymess · 01/09/2017 19:00

Every 2/3 days is sufficient unless you are particularly sweaty

Esspee · 01/09/2017 19:00

People wear pants under PJs?Shock
Personally I go commando, as does my OH but I do have a few lovely nighties (in case I am hospitalised) to wear if we have guests as I forget and tend to wander the house naked.
I can't imagine having to wear pj trousers all night, how restrictive, but to wear underwear too ??? Could someone explain the reasoning behind this please.
